While carrying a baby and when pain occurs, the following are allowed:
- Paracetamol. It is considered the safest for the expectant mother and baby. The remedy relieves attacks of pain, and also has anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. It crosses the placenta, but has no harmful effect on the baby.
- Nurofen. It has an effect on all types of pain. It can be used at the time of bearing a baby, subject to strict adherence to the dosage recommended by the doctor. But this pain medicine can reduce the amount of amniotic fluid, so it is not recommended to use it in the third trimester.
- No-shpa and Riabal. These are antispasmodics that perfectly relieve pain. They are also prescribed to pregnant women with increased uterine tone, which can lead to miscarriage or early childbirth.
These prenatal pain relievers can be in the form of pills or rectal suppositories. The latter have a quick effect and are considered the safest for the expectant mother.
