Probably everyone knows that the car heats up quickly in hot weather. Therefore, every year there are alarms not to leave children or animals in the car. A hot car interior is also less of a direct threat to our health. These are products that can deteriorate due to temperature and harm us.
- A car left in the sun at 26 degrees C after 30 minutes heats up to 42 degrees C. After an hour the temperature rises by another 10 degrees
- This is too high a temperature for humans or animals, but also for many everyday products
- Moreover, leaving some of them in the car in hot weather can even result in a fire
- More information can be found on the Onet homepage.
Drugs in the car – never do that
The car heats up very quickly, reaching a much higher temperature than the outside temperature. After an hour of standing in the sun at 26 degrees C, the inside of the car is already 52 degrees C. This means that everything inside is subjected to such high temperature.
Therefore, anything that is not resistant to such high temperatures should not be stored in the car. At the top of this list are drugs, vitamins and dietary supplements. Regardless of their form. This is too high a temperature for syrups, lozenges, pharmaceuticals coated with a gelatin shell or ordinary tablets. Each product leaflet contains information on the storage temperature. Some of the drugs must go to the refrigerator, but the vast majority simply requires a dark and cool place with a temperature not exceeding 24 degrees Celsius.

Medicines that have been exposed to extremely high temperatures in a car in hot weather are no longer usable. They can pose a health risk and must therefore be disposed of in a pharmacy.
Don’t keep food in the car
While many people keep snacks in their car to keep them on hand, they should forgo such activities in the summer months. Food products subjected to high temperature deteriorate faster.
- The editorial board recommends: Why is the heat harmful to us?
It is especially dangerous to leave those foods in the car that require a cooler storage temperature. It is mainly dairy products, but also meat, fish and frozen food. Too high temperature promotes the multiplication of bacteria that may be harmful to human health.
Particular attention should be paid to frozen food. If they are partially defrosted, they are no longer suitable for putting them back in the freezer. Consuming such a product may cause staphylococcal poisoning!
Food poisoning? In such a situation, it is good to rebuild the intestinal microflora. You can do this with a high-dose probiotic.
Watch out for the water in the car
Leaving a water bottle in a hot car is also not a good idea. For several reasons. First, it should also be kept at a certain temperature. When this is exceeded, the manufacturer does not guarantee that it still meets all standards. Secondly, if the water has been opened, bacteria can multiply in it.
Another issue is … fire risk. The transparent bottle acts as a lens. When sunlight shines on it, it can cause the surface on which the bottle rests to catch fire.
