When composing a diet, you must also know what you should not eat during pregnancy, and what foods you will have to limit the consumption of. This is important for your baby’s health.

What absolutely should not be eaten by pregnant women?

During pregnancy, the load on the woman’s body increases, the internal organs shift, and their work becomes more complicated. If the expectant mother does not revise her diet, then she develops heartburn, exacerbates chronic diseases, and poisoning may occur. All these situations are fraught with taking antibiotics and other drugs undesirable during pregnancy.

Exotic foods should not be eaten during pregnancy

List of foods that are strictly prohibited for pregnant women:

  • alcohol;
  • raw and poorly fried meat, fish;
  • raw eggs and milk;
  • mushrooms in any form;
  • expired products;
  • blue cheeses;
  • exotic products and dishes from them;
  • store canned food;
  • crackers, chips;
  • crab sticks;
  • carbonated drinks.

In addition, it is worth abandoning products that contain flavor enhancers, dyes, stabilizers, acidity regulators and other chemical additives and preservatives. First of all, all semi-finished products, colored creams, chewing gum, jelly candies, marinades and seasonings are banned.

Why should you restrict certain foods?

An expectant mother should limit the consumption of foods that are not beneficial, but lead to weight gain:

  • fast food;
  • chocolate and sweets;
  • refined sugar;
  • fatty meats, fish.

Eating chocolate can lead to food allergies in a child. And fatty and fried foods increase the load on the liver.

A pregnant woman should minimize her intake of spices, ready-made sauces, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and other spicy foods. Excess leads to indigestion, heartburn, and can also cause miscarriage. For example, excessive consumption of cinnamon and rosemary leads to bleeding, causes premature labor, and tones the uterus.

With high blood pressure, you should consume no more than a cup of coffee or tea per day.

Cod liver and seafood are rich in vitamin A, but should not be consumed constantly. A small portion is allowed once a month.

Be more attentive to the choice of products, control the timing and quality. Gradually switch to a healthy diet, it is not difficult at all.
