A mass vaccination campaign against the coronavirus in Poland has been going on for several weeks. Currently, seniors are vaccinated, in the next round, the vaccine will be given to people with chronic diseases first. Therefore, there are doubts about drugs that may be a contraindication to vaccination. What are these drugs?

Vaccinations against COVID-19: what diseases are a contraindication to vaccination?
Chronic diseases are not a contraindication to vaccination against coronavirus. Some time ago, the Medical Council presented a list of diseases that can be vaccinated. These are chronic kidney diseases, neurological deficits (e.g. dementia), lung diseases, neoplastic diseases, diabetes, COPD, cerebrovascular diseases, hypertension, immunodeficiency, cardiovascular diseases, chronic liver diseases, obesity, addiction-related diseases from nicotine, bronchial asthma, thalassemia, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia.

However, vaccination may be postponed because of an exacerbation of any of these diseases. The same applies to any severe febrile illness or acute infection. Then it is worth consulting a doctor.
People who previously experienced anaphylactic shock to the components of the COVID-19 vaccine should not be vaccinated, the second dose of the preparation should not be taken by people who experienced such shock after the first administration.
Vaccinations against COVID-19: which drugs are not a contraindication for vaccination?
Persons with chronic illnesses are eligible for vaccination earlier than persons without chronic illnesses. Medications alone, taken regularly for chronic diseases, are not a contraindication to vaccination.
Also, chemotherapy in cancer patients is not a contraindication to vaccination. But the optimal date of vaccination should be consulted with your doctor.
Vaccinations against COVID-19: what drugs should not be vaccinated with?
The president of the Supreme Medical Council told about what drugs may be a contraindication to vaccination against coronavirus.
– Drugs that reduce immunity, such as steroids or cytotoxic drugs, are a contraindication to vaccination due to the weakening of the vaccine response. Administration of healers’ serum results in a three-month postponement of vaccination – explained Prof. Andrzej Matyja in an interview with Cowzdrowiu service.
