What is your skin type?

To take care of your face, you must first of all know the characteristics of your skin. Combination, normal, dry or oily, your skin is unique, learn to recognize it.
Your skin is normal
In appearance, normal skin has no irregularities, its pores are not visible and its texture is regular. To the touch, this type of skin does not present any irregularity, dryness or any particular imperfection. On the contrary, normal skin is smooth and its appearance uniform.
If you recognize yourself in this description, then you have normal skin and you can consider yourself lucky because this type of skin has the ability to react very well to external aggressions such as cold, humidity, pollution or UV rays.
However, this is not a reason not to take care of it, on the contrary. Normal skin needs to be cleansed and hydrated daily. Be careful, however, with too frequent scrubs that could sensitize your skin.
Your skin is oily
Oily skin is characterized above all by too much sebum production. As a result, its appearance can be shiny. The pores of oily skin are rather large and can therefore be visible. Since they are open, they are more sensitive to external aggressions and imperfections may appear.
Perhaps you only partially recognize yourself in this description. Totally oily skin is indeed rather rare and, most often, certain areas of the face (the T zone: forehead, nose and chin) are affected when the rest of the face has rather normal features.
Oily skin requires demanding care. It is especially not a question of attacking them with scrubs supposed to purify the skin, or of not moisturizing them in the hope that the excess sebum will disappear. On the contrary, delicate care and adapted hydration are essential to keep your skin in good health..
Your skin is dry
Dry skin is first recognized by its appearance. They are rough, dull, they pull and may reveal certain marks such as redness, sores (small very dry patches) or streaks.
These skins suffer particularly in winter because the cold attacks them and very uncomfortable cracks can appear.. Some people only have dry skin in winter. The rest of the year, the weather is in their favor and their skin regains its normal character.
In all cases, treating dry skin requires good hydration, morning and evening, with a suitable cream that will compensate for the too low production of sebum supposed to create a protective barrier on the face. And since hydration doesn’t just come from creams, people with dry skin should drink plenty of water too!
Your skin is combination
Neither too dry nor too oily, your skin is combination! On your face, certain areas can sometimes appear dry to you, especially in winter, when others, and in particular the T zone, are rather oily on a daily basis..
If you recognize yourself in this description, know that you are part of the vast majority of adult skin types and that with age, the dry areas of your face should take precedence over the oily areas.
Caring for combination skin is a real art, since it is a question of managing to clean it and protect it without drying out the dry areas, nor over nourishing the oily areas. To do this, low astringent products are indicated for cleaning your face. You will then need to combine two different products: a nourishing cream for dry areas, and a rebalancing treatment for oily areas.
