Yarrow: what is it
This is a medicinal plant, the Latin name for yarrow is (Achillea millefolium L.). Another name is haiduk grass. Although the plant is used to treat various diseases, it is mainly used for female ailments.
It is placed in a group of plants that treat female diseases. In this case, we are talking about the problems of the menstrual cycle, PMS, problems with the ovaries. Yarrow is a common plant that grows wild along roads and paths, in meadows and fields. It can be found up to 1700 m above sea level.
The plant is 20 to 60 cm tall. It has a pubescent stem with double or triple pinnate leaves. The flowers can be white, pink, or bright red. The flowers are collected at the top of the stem and have a pleasant aroma.
Yarrow harvest time
If you are harvesting yarrow, it is correct to do it from June to October. All flowering plant is removed. It is necessary to cut the stem above the ground, and then fold it in bunches and dry it. The thick and woody parts are separated, and tea or other medications are prepared from the other dried parts.
Why is yarrow useful for the human body?
In Germany, it is often used as a seasoning for food. Contains a significant amount of vitamin C, carotene and, to a lesser extent, vitamin K. Young fresh leaves are added as a spice to various dishes. The leaves can be used as a substitute for parsley.

Yarrow tea: benefits and harms
Herbal tea is easy to make with the recipe below. It is prepared from dried flowers and leaves. A mixture of plants (1 teaspoon), pour 25o ml of boiling water and leave for 15 minutes. Then the infusion is filtered and drunk warm.
This drink is useful for liver diseases, rheumatism, heart palpitations and lung diseases. A cold infusion of hayduk herb is good for cleansing the skin.
If you have stomach problems, this tea can help you. Composition of 1 teaspoon of dried yarrow leaf and one tbsp. spoons of chamomile and mint. Pour boiling water over the herbs and let stand for 15 minutes. It will help with indigestion, spleen or bowel problems.
Tea strengthens the blood and relieves indigestion. It also helps with skin and kidney diseases. Suitable for detoxification and improves liver function. This herbal infusion is a natural remedy for female diseases, gastritis, kidney and skin diseases.
