What is the responsible person responsible for?
For what he chose himself or for what was agreed. This may be responsibility for the choice of goals and means, for the cause, for the consequences, for the result, for oneself and for the other.
- Responsible for the consequences — to be punished or pay for the damage in case of negative consequences.
- Responsible for the promise — to fulfill the declared, no matter how difficult or expensive it is.
- Self-responsibility — control yourself, solve your problems on your own.
The combination of the circle of responsibility and the measure of responsibility creates the volume (value) of responsibility. See Types of Responsibility, Terms of Responsibility.
What is the responsibility of the one who delegated (transferred) responsibility? See Delegation of Responsibility
Toyota has the concept of Harakiri one, two and three. Harakiri alone is my responsibility for my task. Harakiri two — my responsibility for what people after me did or did not do, to whom I entrusted something. Harakiri three is my responsibility for the people around me, on whom the result also depended.
