What is Quarantine?

Quarantine is the isolation of healthy people who, however, had contact with sick or suspected persons getting COVID-19. The quarantine period lasts 14 days, but it is the doctor who decides on its length each time.

Quarantine is a matter of responsibility for your own health and that of others. Therefore, if you are afraid that you have had contact with someone who is sick or infected, you should call the nearest sanitary and epidemiological station. During the interview, you will fill in the questionnaire and get information on how to proceed.

It is also worth following the messages regarding the search for people they had contact with the coronavirus. If your last name and first name appear in the message, proceed as above. Failure to comply with the quarantine may result in a fine of up to PLN 30. zlotys.

What rules should be followed in quarantine?

  1. Stay at home and never leave it.
  2. Keep a safe distance (about 2 meters) when you need to talk to someone.
  3. Hang a piece of paper on a door or fence stating that you are in quarantine.
  4. It is best to occupy one room and use one bathroom – this way you reduce the area for disinfection.
  5. Use separate utensils and cutlery.
  6. Air your home several times a day.
  7. Avoid contact with animals.
  8. If you are in contact with other people, always wear a mask.
  9. Take care of hygiene: thoroughly clean the bathroom and kitchen every day, clean various surfaces that you touch every day (e.g. door handles, handrails, countertops, telephones, etc.), wash your clothes at 60 degrees C, try to avoid hand washing, disinfect all places where body fluids may be. Use disinfectants according to the instructions.
  10. Keep your body in good shape: get enough sleep, eat an easily digestible diet rich in fruit and vegetables, and keep your body hydrated.
  11. Monitor your health: take your temperature, watch for breathing problems, muscle aches, cough, etc., if in doubt, consult the phone.

When you are in quarantine, you care about the health and safety of other people, including your relatives! It is a question of responsibility not only for yourself but also for others. Currently, for non-compliance with the quarantine of the bulkhead, a fine of up to 30. zlotys.

If the symptoms worsen, call the nearest sanitary and epidemiological station and ask for help. If the doctor deems it necessary, an ambulance will be sent to pick you up and take you to the nearest hospital for infectious diseases.

What is the purpose of the quarantine?

The purpose of the quarantine is to isolate people from suspected coronavirus infection from other people. This prevents them from infecting other people and spreading the virus.

If no symptoms appear after 14 days, the person is healthy. However, keep in mind that this does not mean that you are immune to the virus. So you should still take all precautions in mind: frequently wash or disinfect your hands and various surfaces, keep a distance of 2 meters from other people, do not touch your eyes, mouth and nose, eat healthy and hydrate your body.
