Hello! An interesting incident occurred on the island of Koshima, in Japan. Scientists observed the colony of monkeys, constantly feeding them. Most of all they liked sweet potatoes, but the sand that got on them prevented them from enjoying the taste. One day, a young female, whom the scientists named Imo, made a discovery — she washed a delicacy. Then she taught her mother and the whole colony. And when the number of those who mastered the new method exceeded 100, something amazing happened — monkeys from other islands began to do the same. Just one morning, everyone without exception began to wash potatoes. And everything would be fine, but there was no contact between them. They were so far apart that they could not transmit information in any way.
Fiction or reality?
The 100th monkey effect is truly a miracle, a phenomenon in which a learned skill spreads to the entire population, provided that the number of individuals who managed to acquire it exceeded XNUMX. Why this happens, no one can give an exact answer. There are many hypotheses, but the most logical and popular at the moment is the theory of the information field.
That is, there is a certain space from which people and animals unconsciously draw knowledge. Therefore, when, say, a large number of people on the planet come to one conclusion or learn something, then the rest of the population, able to read information, will have these skills. This is a rather complicated process to understand, but you must admit, amazing.

On February 14, 1876, Elisha Gray and Alexander Bell simultaneously filed applications for the invention of the telephone at the patent office. Moreover, with a difference of two hours, two complete strangers decided to legitimize the same creations. Gray sued Bell, as in March it was he who received the desired patent. But he lost, which is why until 2002 Alexander was considered the inventor of the telephone.
Until the US Congress took away this right from him, as it turned out that back in 1871 Antonio Meucci filed exactly the same application. Here’s how to explain it? Identical ideas arose simultaneously in several people who had no idea about the existence of each other. This could be called a mere coincidence, if not for one thing. The same situation arose with the advent of radio, battery, steam engine, etc.
Birds
In the 1920s in England, a little problem arose because of the birds, which have the beautiful name titmouse. So, they just practically left the milkmen out of work. Previously, after all, milk was delivered under the door, but one bird «guessed» to break the top of the package to get to the delicacy. The rest of the starving titmouse did not wait long and followed her example.
And everything would be fine, only relatives of birds in Sweden, Denmark, Holland and in other countries where they live acquired this ability to get their own food. One would assume that they simply migrated. But it turns out that this bird species does not leave its territory. The maximum she can fly is 25 kilometers. Amazing, isn’t it?
When World War II began, there was no question of any milk supplies. She resumed only after 8 years. The life span of the blue tit is 3 years, that is, everyone who hunted in this way for their livelihood has long died. But imagine, the new generation began to «steal» as successfully as the previous one. As if the chicks were already born «with a built-in skill to open packages.»

You don’t need to go far, look at the children around who, almost from birth, skillfully handle smartphones, tablets, computers. We are amazed at what a capable new generation this is, especially when compared to the grandparents who struggled with a push-button cell phone. And it’s not a high level of intelligence, you see. Every child quickly navigates in gadgets.
It used to take a long time to learn how to snowboard. What happens to the youth and, again, children? A maximum of an hour with an instructor and they can conquer almost any peak. Without a bunch of bruises, abrasions and dislocations. As if from birth they stood on the board. Or take a swim. Do you know that babies can swim? And then, growing up, they forget how it’s done. Especially if in childhood they are afraid of water.
Atomic bomb
If you put 1 kilogram of uranium 235 in one hand, and put it in the other, only, for example, 950 grams and bring them together, nothing will happen. You can even try to set it on fire, no effect. But if there is exactly one kilogram in each hand, a nuclear explosion will follow. A person will not even have time to connect these two pieces, the reaction will occur so quickly. If only 99 of them washed potatoes, knowledge of the new method would not have spread to relatives. But only a hundredth of them began to wash — as the information flow went into the field, the Universe, to become accessible to everyone.

Why, when we first sit behind the wheel of a car, we remember how to properly manage it. True, not everyone is good at remembering, but that’s another story.
