Consider below the ratio of ppm and fractions (ordinary and decimal):

1. One ppm is equal to one part in a thousand, in other words, 1/1000 fractions.

2. 10 ppm is equal to the 10th part of a thousand, i.e. fractions of 10/1000.

3. 100 ppm equals 100/1000 fractions.

One ppm is one tenth of a percent.
