Timur Khaidarov, a plastic surgeon at the Vremya krasoty clinic, told us why women decide on such an unusual operation.
Recently in the plastic industry it has become a very fashionable operation that is performed with the help of … fat! In scientific terms, lipofilling is a technique for correcting age-related changes in the face and body contours, the essence of which is the transplantation (transplantation) of one’s own adipose tissue from one zone to another. That is, it is absolutely possible to reduce the belly and enlarge the buttocks in one procedure.
By the way, there are rumors that Kim Kardashian herself loves this procedure!
Some women choose lipofilling for material reasons: it is no secret that implants cost 2/3 of the cost of plastic surgery. Yes, and a double result – fat leaves unnecessary places, and the buttocks and breasts become fuller. Did many women dream come true?
Like any operation, lipofilling also has complications, and it turns out that the effect of it is not for life. After some time, up to 60% of the transplanted fat is broken down.
We asked at a plastic surgeon about all the pros and cons of lipofilling.
In fact, the procedure has been in demand for more than 10 years in America and Europe, in countries where plastic surgery is more developed. Initially, this method was invented to correct defects in those places where there is a lack of their own tissue.
Lipofilling became famous for the treatment of scar tissue: the body’s own fat contains stem cells, and it is believed that it grows well and takes root with blood vessels, as well as nerves. But gradually lipofilling leaked into plastic surgery: it began to be used as a filler for facial beautification instead of hyaluronic acid to enlarge lips and remove nasolabial wrinkles. Due to the fact that there are stem cells in its own fat, the skin is rejuvenated.
But the most popular use of fat is modeling of the buttocks.
The lipomodeling procedure consists in taking fat from one part, for example, from the abdomen, creating a relief and correction, and transferring the adipose tissue to the buttocks. Since augmentation with implants has a number of complications and complications, the result does not always satisfy clients, at first a combined method was used for buttock augmentation – implantation and fat transfer, but over time lipofilling completely replaced the implant, and today it is more expedient to use your own fat. The buttocks area is very moody and has many nuances.
The operation is indicated for both men and women from 20 to 45 years old, as long as the muscle frame is well developed. The operation is performed not only under general, but also under local anesthesia, and the postoperative period is gentle and requires only the wearing of compression underwear for a month, so that the skin takes on a new look. Hardware lifting also consolidates the result, and any stimulation of the skin improves the result.
As for the transplanted fat, it takes root very well, but there are nuances – if it is incorrectly introduced, there may be complications and a tuberosity of the body will appear. The procedure is safe when properly handled and administered. With hormonal disorders and obesity, the procedure can only aggravate the situation.
Of course, since fat tends to break down, only 30-40% survive for life.
As in every plastic surgery, lipofilling has disadvantages: if you increase the breast only with fat, then you can increase it by no more than half the size, and the fat is absorbed, and it can also take root badly. For the face, it is also better to prefer fillers to fat, and with augmentation of the buttocks, there is no better lipofilling procedure.
