What is kefir useful for?

Each of us has heard about the benefits of some products since childhood. For example, about the healing properties of kefir. But it turns out that its positive role is not limited only to the digestive system: kefir can improve mood.

It is difficult to overdose with such an antidepressant.

The advice to drink kefir, if the blues overtook, will cause a smile for most of us. They say that other drinks are much more effective to combat spleen. Meanwhile, thanks to the lactobacilli that make up kefir, it not only improves the condition of the gastrointestinal tract, but also improves mood. Irina Prudolskaya, a nutritionist at the Center for Aesthetic Medicine, is sure that kefir, being an undoubtedly useful product for digestion, reduces the risk of depression.

What is the reason for this unexpected effect for many? The fact is that kefir and yogurt contain the bacterium lactobacillus rhamnoses JB-1, which has sedative properties. By acting on the brain, the bacteria reduce stress levels and unnecessary fears. Probiotics increase levels of the amino acid tryptophan, which in turn produces serotonin (aka the hormone of happiness). It is the production of serotonin that contributes to psychological resistance to mood swings.

In a word, if you suddenly feel sad, drink a glass of kefir. This fermented milk antidepressant, unlike the most common drinks from the blues, if it does not help, then at least it will not harm.
