A group of peppers of Moldavian origin belongs to Gogoshars. The advantage of this variety lies in the ease of cultivation and special taste. Let’s try to figure out what Gogoshary is and how to grow them correctly.
Description and characteristics of Gogoshary pepper
The Gogoshary pepper is shaped like a flattened small pumpkin. The difference from other types of pepper is flattening, and not their characteristic elongation. Its structure is ribbed, the walls are thick, juicy. At first, the vegetable has a marsh hue, but over time it turns yellow and acquires a bright scarlet color.
The taste of the vegetable is sweet, slightly spicy. Gogoshary, like Novogoshary, has a honey aftertaste. The height of the bushes reaches one and a half meters, but on average this figure is half a meter.
The plant is thermophilic, so it should not be allowed to stay at temperatures below +16 ° C. In this case, the vegetable must be placed under cover or in a greenhouse.

Common species
This variety has several varieties:
- The Golden Jubilee has an average ripening rate and a slightly ribbed skin. Brings a large harvest, resistant to parasites and diseases.
- The original Gingerbread Man grows in small bushes. Fruits can be stored at home for a long time and can be easily transported over long distances. The vegetable ripens three months after seed germination.
- Golden Tamara has smooth ribs and large fruits weighing more than 200 g. Up to ten kilograms of crop can be harvested from one square meter of land.
- Saturated Ruby is a mid-season variety. According to reviews, its taste is sweet-spicy, with an admixture of spices. It takes six months to fully mature.
Peculiarities of growing
Like other varieties of pepper, Gogoshary needs special conditions for planting, care and cultivation. Only in this case you will be able to reap a rich harvest.
Choice of location and lighting
The ideal option is to plant a vegetable away from other varieties of pepper. The fact is that this variety is quickly and easily pollinated, so it must be planted to maintain the purity of the species. According to the description, the plant needs a lot of light, but avoid ventilated places. Experienced gardeners recommend planting a plant where cucumbers, beets or carrots used to grow. It is forbidden to plant a vegetable in the places of the former growth of potatoes and tomatoes.
Soil for planting
Soil should be selected depending on the method of planting. For a seedling method, buy a mixture in a store or mix peat, sod and humus yourself in a ratio of 2: 2: 1. For outdoor cultivation, you will need light soil treated with humus. The soil should hold water well.
Seed preparation and sowing scheme
In order to get seedlings, you need to sow the seeds in a small container and store at room conditions. After that, the sprouts are transplanted into a greenhouse or greenhouse. First, warm the soil in the oven or microwave for 15 minutes. In this way, bacteria can be neutralized. Before planting, seeds are soaked in an antiseptic liquid for half an hour. After that, the seeds are washed under running water and spread on a damp cloth to wait for the sprouts to appear.
Seeds are placed exclusively in wet soil. Sprinkle on top with seed, it is not necessary to tamp the ground. Spray the soil with water from a spray bottle. In order to insulate the plant, the container can be covered with a film.
Sowing is carried out in early spring. Do not plant seeds close to each other so that they grow not only in height, but also in thickness. Keep a distance of 5 cm between seeds.
Care of seedlings
Caring for seedlings is quite simple. The main thing is to ensure sufficient and regular watering. When the sprouts grow a couple of centimeters in height, the soil needs to be periodically loosened. Be careful not to damage the rhizome. Picking is carried out only when the plants acquire three leaves.
Regarding temperature, the plant should be grown in the temperature range of 18-22°C. If the temperature drops to 13 ° C, the bush will wither, and then may die. And if the plant does not have enough light, the leaves will curl up and dry out.
The first bait is done two weeks after planting the seeds in the ground. To do this, use liquid fertilizer.
Landing in open ground
Grown plants are planted in open ground in the last month of spring. Do not plant bushes deep in the ground, so as not to ruin the roots. You need to take care of the plants according to the standard scheme: loosening, watering, feeding.
Care after landing
Plants need regular care. Make sure that the soil never dries out, because in this case it will not be able to get rid of the inflorescences. Water the bushes under the root with water at room temperature. In order for moisture to be better absorbed, loosen the soil and water the paths between the bushes.
Loosening can be replaced by a more efficient procedure – mulching. Use straw, sawdust or grass. Pack them in layers 3 cm high. Remove stepchildren to form a bush.
Don’t forget to weed the weeds. At the same time, tear the grass on the paths between the bushes, and not at the roots themselves. Feed the plant three times a season. Use nitrogen top dressing at first, and then get phosphorus ones.
When the first fruits appear, tie up the plant, as it may break. Harvest carefully so as not to damage the stalk.
Disease and pest resistance
This variety is resistant to ailments, but if necessary, it is necessary to carry out proper treatment and provide him with the necessary care. A threat to the health of the plant is rot, fungi, Colorado potato beetles, aphids and slugs. After their exposure, plants lose growth and die.
To prevent the occurrence of ailments in pepper, you need to remove all plant debris from the ground after you harvest. As for organics, ash and chalk should be used for fertilizer.
You need to spray vegetables with toxic substances a couple of times a season with an interval of three weeks.
If there are infected vegetables on the site, they must be burned and buried in the ground. It is better to collect slugs and Colorado potato beetles with your own hands so as not to expose the plant to poison treatment. Parasite nits are collected in the same way.
Advantages and disadvantages
The plant has several advantages:
- high yield;
- fleshy juicy vegetables;
- original taste (honey plus bitterness);
- fruits can be stored and transported for a long time;
- vegetables can ripen at home after harvest;
- low calorie;
- suitability for salting;
- useful composition.
Pepper also has disadvantages:
- need for light and plenty of water;
- fragility of stems and roots;
- the need for supplements.
Scheduled harvest
The first vegetables from the plant must be picked while still green. The remaining fruits are harvested when they ripen on the bushes. In this case, you must act with extreme caution so as not to break the branches of the bushes. Fruit picking is carried out three to four months after planting, depending on the plant variety.
Do not be too lazy to plant this plant on your site. It is rich in vitamins, and also perfectly strengthens blood vessels. Fruits can be stored for a long time and preserved for the winter.
