What is dangerous emotional burden and how to get rid of it

Living under the pressure of emotional problems is very difficult: past negative experiences affect the way you think, self-esteem and relationships. To change everything for the better, it is important to understand what is happening to you.

We often treat thoughts as masters. One may disagree with this statement, but there is some truth in it. We are what we think, and if we constantly focus on life’s troubles, then how to find the strength for self-improvement? How to see the opportunities and seize them, to feel the approach of good luck?

If the mind is filled with negativity, nothing will work. But if we try to switch from negative thinking to positive, the way will open for the development of our inexhaustible potential. For the sake of this, it is worth dropping the emotional burden. Why is he dangerous?

1. Hyperprotection. The one who endlessly scrolls past negative experiences in his head begins to guard his feelings so jealously that he deprives himself of the right to share them with other people. This behavior can cause emotional “numbness” – the person forgets when they last felt something.

2. Projections. Problems arise in communication: there is a tendency to treat badly people who resemble those who hurt in the past.

3. Indecision. Whenever a choice has to be made, it takes a lot of effort and a lot of time to make a decision.

4. Constant comparisons. Too much time is spent thinking about how wonderful life used to be or how much worse we are than others. The more we indulge in this activity, the deeper the emotional abyss becomes.

5. Loss of faith. In yourself and your strength.

How to get rid of this emotional burden? It will take time, because this is not a one-time action, but a long process. You need to be ready to work on changing the way you think and look at life. Those who are persistent and believe in themselves will see how slowly but surely their world is changing.

1. Take a time out. It is hardly possible to predict when the emotional heaviness will become unbearable. But its weight can be lightened: take a breather. Don’t judge yourself by feelings. Try to find the source of the emotion: what made you feel this way? Is it really that important? How to prevent this from happening again? How else can you solve a problem that haunts you? Ask yourself these questions, but don’t be fooled by unnecessary judgments about your feelings. Dare!

2. Don’t suppress your emotions. The ban on the expression of feelings in the future will exacerbate the situation. You run the risk of accumulating emotions in such excess that you cannot keep them inside: the moment will come when they explode, and everything will end badly. Release and release.

3. Create rituals. If you are trying to get rid of emotional heaviness, this method helps: write down everything that you feel on a piece of paper and burn it or throw it away. Another useful ritual is the breathing exercise. Inhale only positive impressions and exhale negative ones. You can come up with your own ritual. Choose whatever you like, as long as it helps.

4. Learn. Remembering past experiences, think about what you can learn from it. Every bad experience is a lesson, you need to consider it more closely and understand what is valuable in it. Thus, using the past, you can put things in order in the present.

5. Be patient. Don’t ask too much of yourself. Change takes time. Most importantly, you are trying. If it seems difficult to cope, keep going anyway. Hard work, perseverance and firmness will pay off.

And remember that thoughts are just thoughts. They come and go. Don’t hold on to them or you’ll miss the present, because “now” is all we have.
