Self-tanning

In 1957 year American physician Eva Wittgenstein researched a special saccharide – (DHA), suggesting its use as a cure for diabetes. After a while, it was discovered that the skin around the lips darkened in children taking the drug. DHA has a very characteristic scent, which is still present in self-tanners containing this element, interacts with the keratin of the skin, forming and thereby changing its color.

Cons: this sunless tan requires a particularly careful and even application. There is a chance to apply self-tanning in the evening and wake up as a zebra in the morning, so if you plan to darken before an important event, test the product in advance. Another disadvantage: if you distribute the lotion with your hand, the palm will turn yellow, so it is better to use a special glove.

Instant tan

Some time ago, proposals for professional application of self-tanning appeared on the Russian market of salon services. The specialist applies the lotion evenly to the body with the help of a special one. It is not recommended to use body creams, perfumes and moisturizers the day before the procedure. It is also advisable to do laser peeling right before the main procedure, then the tan will lie smoother and last longer (representatives of the salons promise durability up to 2 weeks).

 

Cons: this self-tanning does not tolerate the process of perspiration, so if you plan to use the sauna, choose another shade option.

Injections

Injection of preparations containing a special peptide – helps to stimulate the synthesis of melanin in the body without exposure to UV rays. The effect appears one week after the first injection. To maintain bronze, it is necessary to inject melanotan twice a week. 

Cons: insufficient knowledge of the drug, a long list of side effects, high cost of procedures.

Vitamins

Taking before sunbathing has been proven to promote a quick, even tan without scalding (no fanaticism please!). You should take preparations containing vitamin A and gnaw on carrots 2 weeks before the beach holiday, during it and after you return, so that your tan lasts longer.

Except carrots, in apricots, pumpkin, mango, pineapple. Orange brethren are diluted with spinach, broccoli and asparagus rich in this vitamin.

Cons: you still have to go out in the sun to get bronze skin. So, if UV radiation is categorically contraindicated for you, vitamins and grated carrot salad will not help you tan.

Vitamin A will help you tan quickly and painlessly

Bronzers

This is, in fact, decorative cosmetics for the face and body: a foundation or powder of a dark shade, the effect of which is noticeable immediately and washed off after the first shower. Color the skin due to dyes.

Cons: the effect does not last long, light-colored clothing may get dirty.

Pills

Magic suntan pills contain pigment that stains the epidermis from the inside out. Depending on the dosage, a light golden to dark bronze skin tone can be achieved.

Cons: canthaxanthin builds up in the retina, which can eventually damage vision. It should be noted that canthaxanthin tablets are banned in most Western countries.
