• Sensitivity to bites.
• Ease of use, based on the conditions of fishing.

At the same time, spinning rods can be divided into 3 main categories, depending on the action:

• Slow.

This category of spinning rods belongs to the hard types of rods, since only the tip bends in them. With this rod it is easy to cast lures over long distances. Unfortunately, such spinning is inconvenient to use when using light baits. It does not allow you to cast a light bait over a long distance, moreover, such a bait will not be felt by the fisherman. In other words, it is quite difficult to control the game on such a weighty bait.

Based on these characteristics, we can summarize:

• Casting distance. Only weighty baits.
• Casting accuracy satisfactory or even excellent.
• Sensitivity the tallest.
• Ease of use. It’s not a problem to cast the bait from the bush.
• Baits. It is preferable to fish with jig, weighty baits.

slow action

A rod of this type has the ability to bend almost to the very handle, which is the exact opposite of a rod with a fast action. This flexibility makes it possible to cast baits over very long distances. At the same time, the accuracy of hitting the bait is not significant. If there are thickets or fallen trees nearby, then it is better not to risk it. It is better to fish with such spinning in clean water areas in order to avoid hooks.

To really cast the bait a considerable distance, you need to carry out a wide swing. This is difficult to do if there are thickets on the shore. Such rods are used when fishing with small baubles that are light in weight. The rod does an excellent job of playing big fish, as it is able to dampen their jerks. Therefore, the following conclusion can be drawn:

• Casting distance maximum. Spinning with such a rod is perfect for catching distant points, but in clean waters.
• Sensitivity is the lowest. The flexibility of the rod is able to extinguish any bites, so you need to be careful enough.
• Convenience applications can only be felt on the overgrown shores.
• Baits any are used, but it is better if these are small spinners. Even a bait weighing from 1 g can be cast far enough, which cannot be done with a spinning rod, with a fast system.

Medium action

Rods with an average action have average characteristics in terms of casting distance, sensitivity, etc. For those who decide to pick up a spinning rod and go for a predator, it is better to start getting acquainted with the fishing technique by choosing a spinning rod with a fast action. It is quite sensitive and can cast large baits. This will allow you to feel the bait and get acquainted with different types of postings. After such spinning is mastered, you can move on to more serious rods.

Spinning with a medium action is more suitable for those who have seriously mastered all the intricacies of catching fish on spinning with a fast action. As for the slow action, it is more suitable for those spinning players who master the real skill of spinning fishing.

Which spinning test to choose

The spinning test is indicated in grams and indicates which type of bait is preferable to use on this rod. On our ponds, you can use rods of 3 categories, according to the classification:

• Ultralight.
• Light.
• Medium.

Ultralight

These are spinning rods designed for fishing with baits, the weight of which is in the range from 0,1 to 10 grams. Despite this, these rods allow you to play fish weighing several kilograms. Naturally, larger specimens are caught on larger baits, which requires the use of a completely different class of rod.

The advantage of such a rod is that it allows you to control the wiring of small lures. Plus, while playing even a small specimen, it is possible to control the behavior of the fish on the hook. Here every jerk, every movement of the fish is felt by the fisherman. It certainly brings a lot of pleasure. Therefore, most experienced spinners always choose ultralight rods.

Light

This is a more powerful rod with which you can cast lures weighing from 2 to 15 grams. Such rods are less sensitive and more rigid. And, nevertheless, such spinnings are very popular among spinningists. With it, you can pull out a pike weighing 5 kilograms or more, which makes it more effective.

Medium

This is the most rigid type of rod, with which you can carry baits up to 30 grams. This is a fairly powerful rod, designed for catching large specimens of pike, asp, zander, etc. It has the least sensitivity, but it is not so easy to break it.

The rod test is indicated on the handle and has a numerical designation, for example 1-10 g. It follows that the rod is intended for use with lures weighing from 1 to 10 grams. Of course, this does not mean that it is impossible to expand the specified limit, but it is worth observing it. If you use baits weighing less than 1 gram, then they are more difficult to control. And if you take spinners weighing more than 10 grams, you can disable the rod.

Naturally, learning to fish with spinning is better on fast forms. Firstly, such rods are difficult to break if there is no experience in using spinning at all, and secondly, it is much easier to learn from more massive lures. Moreover, learning to fish with spinning is better on a stagnant pond, where there is no current. In such conditions, there is every opportunity to feel the game of the bait and control the wiring. On such reservoirs, you can hone the accuracy of casting the bait, which can be a decisive moment in spinning fishing. Only after you have fully mastered spinning, you can go to the river, where the fishing conditions are fundamentally different from the conditions of fishing on a pond, lake, reservoir, etc.

After a certain confidence in the use of spinning has appeared, you can start fishing on a river with a fast current or a moderate current. Of course, you will have to adapt to such fishing, changing the tactics of catching, but it will be much easier if the process starts from scratch, without prior practice.

The effectiveness of spinning fishing depends on previously acquired experience. Based on the existing skill, we can talk about certain disadvantages of a rod with a fast action and the need to move to more flexible rods that allow you to work with less catchy lures. As a rule, an experienced spinner takes a pair of spinning rods with him for fishing, which have a different system and test. This is necessary in order to find out the preferences of the predator. Very often, the predator bites only on small baits and does not react at all to large ones. This suggests that he behaves passively and he is too lazy to chase a larger bait. This applies to predators such as perch and pike. As for pike perch, which leads a benthic lifestyle, it can only be reached from the depths with heavy spinners or silicones with heavy jig heads. In this case, it is preferable to use a rod with a fast action and a test of 30 grams or more, especially if you have to spin in the current and at depth.
