It seems that this beauty gadget has conquered the whole world, and we decided to figure out whether it is really so effective.
It seems that in pursuit of eternal youth and beauty, women are ready for absolutely anything. That is why almost every day there are new cosmetics and gadgets that can postpone the aging process of the skin for several years, or even decades. One of the most talked about inventions is the dermaroller, which many claim will help prolong youth. That is why we decided to figure out what it is and whether the newfangled gadget is so effective.
“The dermaroller is a simple at first glance roller with fine sharp needles that can be of different lengths, depending on the area of application. By acting, that is, rolling it over the skin, we get an injury, which plays the role of a trigger in the regeneration of the skin, the processes of collagenogenesis (collagen production) are activated. Before the procedure or on the already damaged surface, you can apply a special cocktail or serum with the substances necessary for the skin, ”explains Natalya Beloglazova, cosmetologist at Faceology.
Many experts are sure that it is the dermaroller that is able to overshadow injections, because the effect of it is almost the same.
“This device is practically an alternative to mesotherapy, which can be carried out both at home and in clinics and beauty salons. This is the injection of cocktails of a different nature into areas such as the face, body and head. Multiple needles allow to deliver the necessary substances through the epidermal barrier, thereby stimulating the production of necessary substances by fibroblasts to maintain youthfulness and beauty of the skin, ”says Zobolotnaya Nadezhda Vladimirovna, dermatovenerologist, cosmetologist, therapist, specialist of the BEST Beauty and Health Center.
After a course of such procedures, we will see an improved surface layer of the skin: color, quality, pores will shrink, the number of wrinkles will decrease.
According to Natalia Beloglazova, the vessels of the skin will react to the dermaroller by improving blood microcirculation and, as a result, improving the complexion. Which is a pretty big plus, especially for residents of megacities.
However, not everything is so smooth. Contraindications there are a lot of dermaroller:
· Infected skin, the presence of open pustules and wounds;
· Acne inflammations;
· Warts;
Eczema
• moles that have grown over the past year;
· skin irritation;
· diabetes;
· Neoplasms of the skin of a malignant nature;
Herpes;
· Blood clotting disorders;
· Pregnancy and lactation.
“After the procedure in a beauty salon, in addition to infectious complications that may arise if the rules of asepsis and antiseptics are violated (improperly treated skin before the procedure, not properly treated dermaroller, etc.), other side effects may appear after the procedure, such like itching, burning, soreness, pigmentation, hematomas and bruises, allergic reactions, fibrosis, ”commented Natalia Beloglazova.
In clinics and beauty salons, this device should have a needle length of at least 1 mm, but if you want to use such at home (fortunately, many companies have already made an analogue for home use), then it is best to look after needles that are two times smaller, then there is 0,5.
The procedure is effective only if the device makes a puncture of the skin. Bruises should be visible, then you are doing everything right. Do not worry about the fact that the skin on your face will be too sensitive – this is quite normal, because you have damaged your skin, so think about healing and repairing creams in advance.
