PSYchology

Why are some people successful and satisfied with life, while others do not get out of depression and face failure every now and then? It’s not about genetics, luck or zodiac sign, just happy, successful and optimistic people think differently, says personal growth expert Steve Rizzo.

The most important lesson that life has taught me is known to every successful and cheerful person: nothing is permanent, everyone has ups and downs, sad days and moments of happiness, and success depends only on the ability to confidently ride the wave of change.

Like everyone else, such people face the vicissitudes of fate. To achieve their current position, they had to overcome many difficulties. The only difference is how they deal with them.

They take a break from sad or painful moments, switching to something that brings joy and uplifts their mood. Grateful for happy moments and almost never think that life has cheated or offended them in some way. Even in the most difficult times, they do not lose the ability to laugh. They don’t put on blinders to ignore what’s going on, but instinctively know when to switch to a more productive wave.

Most importantly, everyone can learn this. I call this conscious focus switching. The ability to switch focus is a life-changing habit.

By temporarily moving away from the difficulties and switching to what gives joy, we can take a breath and maintain peace of mind. We “recharge our batteries” with the emotional energy needed to move forward. After that, we turn around to face the difficulties that prevent us from living a normal life. We are no longer so confused, and therefore the correct answers quickly come to mind. We have so calmed the nervous system that we can accept the situation rather than fight it.

Switching focus, even for a brief moment, can help get through the tough times.

Fate often puts spokes in the wheel, new obstacles appear in the way of goals and desires, and we cannot do anything about it. But we ourselves choose how to act. If something goes wrong, we can always switch to a productive wave.

Optimistic and successful people know that no matter what happens, life goes on. They are unwilling to give up their right to happiness and prefer to focus on what gives them strength. You know what? We can live like this too.

Switching focus, even for a brief moment, can help you deal with any (or almost any) difficulty. Without experiencing pain, it is impossible to feel joy. And vice versa: no matter how much we cry, sooner or later tears will be replaced by a smile. To experience one emotional spectrum, we must fully experience another. Switching focus is a skill that saves the psyche and changes the approach to life. This is the key to a happy life.

Let’s practice switching focus. Temporarily step back from the complexities and concentrate on the moments that cheer you up. Be happy with what we have and not be angry because of nonsense. It seems to be too banal and simple? And you try.
