5. Digestion will improve
Meat lacks fiber, which promotes digestive processes. But it is more than enough in vegetables and fruits. If a person stops eating meat, replacing it with plant foods, then beneficial bacteria settle in his intestines. Fiber “sweeps” toxins and inflammation from the body.
6. Gas formation may occur
Increasing the amount of plant foods can cause bloating and gas. This happens when your diet is high in beans, fruits, whole grains, and vegetables that you used to eat less often. So the food should be changed gradually.
7. Muscles will take longer to recover after exercise
Protein not only forms a muscle corset, but also restores tissue after physical exertion. Of course, vegetable protein also copes with this task, but it takes longer for it.
8. Nutrient deficiencies may occur
Meat contains a lot of iron, iodine, vitamins D and B12, so when switching to plant foods, there is a risk of being deficient in these elements. Balance can be restored by consuming enough legumes, nuts, fruits, vegetables, cereals and mushrooms. You can also take additional vitamins.
