What gasoline to choose for a lawn mower so as not to spoil the equipment

What fuel do you need for a lawn mower?

To service a gasoline engine, no special training is needed. It is quite simple if you carefully read the instructions and recommendations for operating the lawn mower. If the unit has a four-stroke engine, then once a year you need to change the lubricant and clean the air filter. A two-stroke engine consumes a combustible mixture that you just need to learn how to cook, it also needs timely cleaning of the air filter.

Fuel selection

The preparation of fuel for a two-stroke engine consists in mixing special engine oil (it is bought in the same place as lawn mowers or car parts) with gasoline. Mineral oil is mixed with fuel in a ratio of 1 to 32 (or 1 to 35), and if it is synthetic, then the ratio is 1 to 50 – all this should be indicated on the package. You can prepare fuel for the lawn mower for the whole season, for this, 5 g of oil is added to a 100-liter can of gasoline.

To the question: “What kind of gasoline to use?” – the answer is simple: the brand should not be higher than that indicated by the manufacturer of the lawn mower. The octane number is important – the higher it is, the longer the burning time of the fuel, if you use a higher brand of fuel, this will reduce the operating time of your device. A four-stroke engine has a crankcase that contains lubricant that lubricates the engine, so it is filled only with gasoline. But it will have to be changed at intervals of 50 hours, whatever it may be, since there is no special oil filter.

Only a cold engine can be refueled, and the tank cannot be filled “to the eyeballs”, you need to leave a little room for expansion. Of course, you should always follow the safety rules.
