CrossFit is characterized by freedom of action and high efficiency. Composing a training program will be easier with the right equipment.
Crossfit training system is universal. You can practice it in the gym or at home, with or without sports equipment. Anyone who plans to do workouts can create a personal program for the day. If desired, you can periodically make changes, add exercises or change the number of approaches.
What is used in the CrossFit training system?
The lessons are based on three types of training, for each of which they use both a basic and an advanced set of equipment.
For gymnastic training crossfit
Equipment used for gymnastic training:
Rings – strengthen the back and abs, arms and shoulder girdle. Suitable for both beginners and professionals. The initial level of exercises is push-ups (in the hang, in the lying position), pull-ups. A more advanced option is access to the rings.
Rope – used for standard training (climbing), helping to strengthen the arms and torso. The wave exercise helps develop dynamic arm strength as well as breathing and heart rate. At the same time, one end of the lying rope is fixed, and the other is picked up in order to launch a “wave” with the help of periodic efforts.
The horizontal bar is the basis of well-known power pull-ups and other exercises. Among them are exits, raising legs to the crossbar, and so on. It is also possible to perform simple acrobatic elements.
Curbstone for jumping (pliobox) – within the framework of the crossfit system, it is suitable even for beginners. Jumping exercises are exercises that strengthen the legs and increase coordination of movements. Dynamic jumps develop explosive power, in this case the plyobox is indispensable.
The gymnastic component of CrossFit also involves bars. So, on them you can do push-ups and learn movements with minimal effort, so that later you can apply them, doing on the horizontal bar and rings.
Additional equipment within this crossfit element is a medicine ball (a projectile for hitting a target, for throwing to the floor, and so on), elastic bands (used for pull-ups at a higher level), pillows (used during an exercise to strengthen the press), loops or belts (by functions they are close to rings).
For weightlifting crossfit training
Elements of weightlifting as part of crossfit:
Dumbbells, barbells, weights – help to gradually develop physical strength, increasing weight as the arms and torso muscles strengthen.
Tire – additional equipment for free-form exercises (lifting, jumping, hitting and much more).
A sandbag is a sports equipment that constantly changes shape. The center of gravity shifts, enhancing the effect of the exercises.
With the help of weightlifting training, you can develop endurance and strength, increase the return on other types of activities.
For cardio crossfit
Training within the framework of the CrossFit methodology is not complete without rowing machines:
- This is equipment for which many programs have been developed, so before classes, you need to choose the one that suits your goals so that the training is most effective.
- Cardio training improves the functioning of the cardiovascular system, increases endurance, and helps to systematically increase the load without risks to the body.
Additional equipment for cardio training is an exercise bike and a treadmill. This equipment pays for itself thanks to the results that can be achieved during training according to the CrossFit method.
