Why does white urine appear? Can white urine be a symptom of diseases? Could this indicate serious medical conditions? Why does urine become even transparent? The question is answered by the drug. Katarzyna Darecka.
Why is urine white?
Hello, I’m 27 years old, I’m a woman. I have noticed that my urine is not the normal yellow color, but white. What it shows white urine? Could this be a symptom of a disease? If so, what diseases are white urine associated with? I don’t know how long I have white urine – it literally seems colorless to me. I noticed it quite recently. I cannot associate white urine with any ailments.
I haven’t had a cold, I don’t even have a cold. Actually, I rarely get sick and I don’t remember when something was wrong recently. Apart from this white urine, nothing else bothers me. However, I am worried that it may be something serious, although I am not looking for a diagnosis on the Internet, because there it may turn out that I suffer from an incurable disease.
I will also mention that I have been on a diet recently and the trainer advised me to drink plenty of fluids. I usually drink water because juices are too sweet for me, and besides, they are not recommended in my diet. I eat regularly, I do not starve. Five easy-to-digest meals and small portions. But I don’t know if it could have anything to do with white urine. Regards.
The doctor indicates possible causes of white urine
The most common cause of occurrence clear urine it is simply diluting it by drinking plenty of water, but sometimes it may be a sign of kidney or metabolic disease.
Often, after intense exercise, we drink large amounts of water – this is normal because many fluids have been left from our body in the form of sweat or as a result of increased breathing. However, if we drink more water, we may end up with hyperhydration, which a healthy person can easily cope with, producing more diluted urine.
Polydipsia (i.e. increased thirst) and polyuria (passing large amounts of urine, often clear) are one of the first symptoms of diabetes. These symptoms may also be accompanied by weight loss, fatigue, and increased appetite. If you experience some of the above symptoms, you should see your GP – he or she will be able to get a detailed history, test and order fasting blood glucose, random blood glucose or OGTT tests.
With the help of the above-mentioned tests, your doctor can confirm or rule out diabetes. Untreated or late diagnosed diabetes mellitus may result in ketoacidosis, so if there are disturbing symptoms, you should see a doctor as soon as possible.
Another disease that can be manifested by passing large amounts of unconcentrated, clear urine is diabetes insipidus, the two main types of which are central diabetes insipidus and renal diabetes insipidus.
Acute kidney injury or nephropathy can also manifest as the production of large amounts of clear, diluted urine.
If clear urine appears continuously for more than two days, you should visit your GP and present your symptoms, because any of the above-mentioned diseases, if left untreated, can be very dangerous to your health.
