What does the house where the richest people of the USSR lived looks like from the inside: photo

In Soviet times, it was impossible to buy an apartment. But you can get it for special merits.

The seven-story building on Tverskaya, 4 is just one example of such elite houses in the Stalinist Empire style. At that time, it was simply huge: it stretched for two whole blocks. The lower, basement floor is finished with granite slabs; it was given over to shops and cafes. In particular, there was a “Gifts” store – a branch of GUM, among other things, a “Diet” store and an ice cream parlor “Cosmos”.

The Kremlin is just a stone’s throw from this house. It is not surprising that only people especially favored by the authorities lived here. Of course, they are not poor. Among the most notable residents are Marshal of Artillery Mikhail Chistyakov, Lieutenant General of Aviation, Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Trofimov, Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Sokolsky. However, there and now, as realtors say, “respectable neighbors.” And could it be otherwise in houses where apartments cost a lot of money? For example, here is one of the apartments on the third floor: it has four rooms with a total area of more than 100 sq. m. It costs 97 million rubles.

“Facade Stalinist house, ceilings 3,2 meters, rare layout,” – reads an advertisement for the sale of housing. Two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen-dining room, two toilets, a bathroom with a sauna, and of course a dressing room. There is even a hallway twice as large as some odnushki in Moscow – 12 square meters.

“Expensive designer renovation in perfect condition” – the description of the elite apartment continues. True, the renovation is not for everybody: there is no smell of fashionable minimalism here. That only one aquarium inhabited by mini-sturgeons is worth. A fireplace, dark carved and leather furniture, wallpaper with monograms, deer antlers on the walls – this is downright lordly estate of the XNUMXth century, and not the interior of an apartment in the very heart of Moscow.

By the way, you can buy an apartment with a mortgage. Provided that the initial payment is 20% of the total cost – 19,4 million rubles, then 609 rubles will have to be paid per month for 576 years. In order for the bank to approve such a mortgage, the monthly income must be at least 20 rubles. What is that kind of money for? Scroll through the gallery and you will see!
