What does the dream mean: “I’m falling into the void”

A dream that repeats itself over and over again can carry an encrypted message. Professor of psychology and ethnopsychotherapist Tobie Nathan (Tobie Nathan) tells what the dream “I am falling into the void” means.

Song Lei, 35

“For many years I have had the same dream. I am in the apartment where I spent my childhood. Something calls me to the street, but I can’t lean out the window because the window sill barely reaches my waist. I step back so as not to fall. And then the building suddenly leans forward, and a dark void pulls me in. I shudder and wake up the very minute I feel myself slipping into her. This dream is repeated so often that I perceive it as a kind of message.

Interpretation

Your intuition does not deceive you. Nightmares often warn us of danger we don’t notice. What kind of danger recurs regularly in your life?

You told on the phone that your childhood passed in a dysfunctional atmosphere. You, sister and brother lived in constant anxiety next to an indifferent mother, unable to express any feelings. Your father was no more interested in you than your mother – he was an alcoholic and suffered from a serious illness. In the end, you lived like three orphans, and you, the older sister, took care of the younger ones. Later, you married a man who behaved irresponsibly. Now you have created a new family with another man, the father of four children. And they took care of everything again. From an early age, you are a daughter and a mother in one person, taking care of the family. As an adult, you are again the one who supports everyone, but you have no one to support you.

The last time this dream came to you, you had just received the position you aspired to. But you confessed to me that you are afraid to rejoice when something good happens to you – you are afraid that your happiness will not cause grief to someone from your loved ones. It is this situation that is expressed in a dream. If you allow yourself to respond to the tempting calls of life, to what is calling you outside, the floor opens under your feet and you are swallowed up by emptiness. That is, you are sure that those for whom you are responsible will not stand it. Why is the house that should have been a refuge in your dream turned out to be so dangerous? Maybe this is a reminder of the situation you experienced as a child, when you could only rely on yourself to raise a brother and sister? Not only.

In fact, your dream is telling you that you cannot continue to live as if you are both a person and a gender that supports you. You can not perceive yourself as a support for the whole small world around you. Let some force carry you. You refuse psychological help, but let me give you advice. The next time you have this dream, reach out to a higher power. You admitted that you are a believer. Try to pray and ask God for protection.
