Nose surgery – preparation for surgery

Before performing nasal surgery, you should be vaccinated against hepatitis B and inform your doctor about any health problems (such as, for example, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, allergy, anesthesia intolerance). Basic tests (blood, urine, heart) should also be performed.

A few days before the operation, if the health condition allows it, drugs that reduce blood clotting (including antihistamines, containing salicylic acid or estrogens) should be discontinued. Nose surgery – the course of the procedure

Nose surgery – recovery period

The swelling that occurs after the nose surgery usually subsides after about 3-4 weeks after the surgery. On the first day after surgery, you should stay in bed with your head elevated and apply cold compresses to reduce hematomas and swelling. The nasal discharge should not be removed too actively over the next few days.

Overheating and cooling should be avoided for three months after the nose operation. Due to the fact that the nose becomes very sensitive to injuries after surgery, you should avoid sports, sudden movements, exercise, and also refrain from using the solarium or sauna.
