What do the icons on the Siemens washing machine control panel mean?

The control panel is the most informative element of any SMA, which displays and sets both the main and additional parameters of the device. Sometimes it can be difficult to understand the meaning of some pictograms. Today, most manufacturers place an inscription next to the pictures, which gives general information about the program. This makes it easier to manage the CMA process, but does not eliminate the need to find out more information about “incomprehensible” icons. What are the designations on the Siemens washing machine and how to decipher them, we will tell using the example of the WS10G160OE model.

Symbols on the display

The display of any CMA is a display of the washing process with all selected basic and additional parameters.

In a Siemens automatic machine, it displays settings and data such as:

  • spin speed;
  • the remaining time until the end of the cycle;
  • maximum allowable load (depending on the selected program);
  • cycle execution status indication;
  • SMA blocking.

If the first three list items on the display are shown as numbers, then the program progress messages and the door lock are shown as icons. Their decryption is as follows:

  1. The key symbol means device lock. To activate or deactivate it, you need to press the “Start / Pause” button (it is shown as a diamond with a vertical line inside) and hold it for 5 seconds.
  2. The appearance of a picture of a pelvis with a slide on the display indicates that the laundry.
  3. If the pictogram in the form of a basin of water is lit, it means that the process is in progress. rinsing.
  4. The image of a “twisted spiral” indicates I’ll take off.
  5. The appearance on the display of the picture of the loading hatch of the washing machine in combination with the word YES indicates that it is possible to open the drum door and reload forgotten items.

If NO flashes instead of YES, it means that additional laundry is not possible at this stage of the CMA operation.

Additional settings buttons

The Siemens washing machine has 5 keys for changing presets.

  1. The button in the form of a diamond with a vertical bar and the inscription “Start / Pause” is used not only to start the SMA. With its help, you can interrupt running mode, for example, to reload clothes, and stop it altogether.
  2. The key depicting a spiral is needed for changing the displayed spin speed or activating the “No spin” option. The maximum drum rotation speed depends on the selected washing mode.
  3. The dial button suggests setting delay time before the end of the program. The end of the cycle can be selected in hourly intervals up to a maximum of 24 hours.
  4. The alarm image indicates the speedPerfect option. With its help, you can cut wash time in half. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the permissible load of laundry, which differs from the maximum capacity of the washing machine itself.
  5. A basin pictogram with an arrow pointing up and labeled “Water Plus” suggests starting extra rinse products in more water than usual.

When an additional setting is activated, the indicator lamp next to the corresponding option will light up on the control panel.

In general, the icons on the Siemens washing machine are clear to the user and easy to remember. Before operating the device, it is important to compare the images on the control panel with similar designations and information about them in the instructions for the washer. Such a procedure will help to eliminate the situation with the use of a mode that does not correspond to the things loaded in the drum.
