What do Polish women suffer from?

Although almost one third of Internet users suffered from the problem of urinary incontinence, as many as 75 percent. of them did not consult a doctor. An online survey conducted by MedTvoiLokony shows that every seventh woman does not see a gynecologist at all.

A Polish woman lives shorter than the average resident of the EU – on average by 2 years. One of the reasons for this is the lower level of knowledge about a healthy lifestyle and taking care of one’s health. According to data from the National Institute of Health, women aged 25, who are better educated, can expect to live 9 years longer than those with primary education.

Gynecological preventive examinations

An interactive test conducted by MedTvoiLokony on women’s health conditions shows that 14 percent. of them between the ages of 18 and 39 do not go to the gynecologist at all. Internet users with primary education visit it the least frequently. Almost half of them do not use the services of a doctor of this specialty. In the case of women with higher education, 70 percent. he goes to the gynecologist once a year. Unfortunately, women do preventive examinations too rarely. 22 percent interviewees aged 18 to 39 have never had a Pap smear. Here again ladies with primary education are in the lead. Half of them have never done this test. Meanwhile, in terms of mortality due to cervical cancer, we are the European leader, while in many countries the problem of this cancer practically does not exist at all, because it is completely curable when detected early. In addition, the rate of decline in mortality from malignant neoplasms in Poland is lower than the EU average. If it does not change, the current European level for women will be achieved in 30 years.

One-third of Internet users do not examine their breasts either, although an early tumor has a much better chance of recovery. In this infamous statistic, the leaders are the inhabitants of Podlasie, where breasts are not examined by almost half of the women. The ladies from the West Pomeranian region were the best. There, the breasts are not examined by only a quarter of the respondents.

Urinary incontinence problem

Almost one third of Internet users say that they have been affected by the problem of urinary incontinence. It concerned every fifth respondent aged 18-39, 40 percent. women aged 40-49 and every second aged 50-64. 90 percent it happened at the time of sneezing or coughing, 20 percent when lifting heavy objects, and 8 percent. during sexual intercourse. Oddly enough, 75 percent. of them did not consult a doctor about it. 63 percent decided that this is too trivial a matter, and 23 percent. she was just ashamed to talk about it. This is surprising, because the vast majority of respondents – as many as 93% know that this problem must be addressed to a gynecologist or urologist. Urinary incontinence makes everyday life difficult. Therefore, it is necessary to determine its cause as soon as possible and start treatment. The basis of diagnosis, apart from the physical examination, is the results of urine and blood tests. In some situations, urodynamic diagnosis is necessary, which allows to visualize the lower urinary tract symptoms and determine the optimal treatment. The examination may be supplemented with ultrasound. Treatment of urinary incontinence depends on the type, severity and causes of the symptoms. Only 60 percent. Internet users know that urological inserts may be helpful, 30 percent would use a panty liner, and 10 percent. with a sanitary napkin. Urological insoles provide long-lasting freshness and effective protection, even for women with an active lifestyle. In urinary incontinence, an extremely important element of daily hygiene is to ensure dry skin of the intimate areas and protect this part of the body against irritation caused by constant contact with irritating factors, as well as ensure freshness and reduce unpleasant odors.

How often to do preventive examinations

Internet users know the symptoms of vaginal mycosis very well. 96 percent she correctly replied that it was a white lumpy discharge. Only 2 percent. he thought the symptom could be amenorrhea or fever. When it comes to the symptoms of chlamydiosis, 90 percent. indicated inflammation of the cervix, cysts, inflammation of the fallopian tubes and pelvic organs, 6 percent. for urinary incontinence and acne. Most women know that a blood count with smear and ESR should be done once a year, blood glucose levels checked every 3 years, cholesterol and triglycerides checked after the age of 45 every 3 years, a chest X-ray every 3 years (women who smoke once a year), measure blood pressure once a year, and ECG testing should be carried out every 3 years until the age of 50, then every year.
