Yoga. Several studies have shown that yoga, which combines physical postures and medication, can be of great support for people with AAD. Yoga improves self and body awareness, strengthens self-esteem, and is a good complement to psychotherapies. Several studies have shown the benefits of yoga for mental health disorders13.
Physical exercise. Three clinical trials involving more than 200 women with binge eating disorder14 have shown that physical exercise, including aerobics and yoga, helps reduce the number of binge eating episodes and associated depressive symptoms. Combined with psychotherapies, physical exercise would be beneficial.
