Each family member has their own favorite colors and shades. This fact greatly complicates the process of decorating a kitchen. You need to choose exactly the color with which each family member will be comfortable.
Good color associations for kitchen decor
Red. This color is traditionally attributed to energy and passion. Of course, you can use red to decorate the kitchen, but it should not be more than 10% of all shades of the room. This means that red wallpaper cannot be used in the kitchen, but you can dilute the interior with bright red details – a tablecloth, an apron, and potholders. Delicate shades of red, such as light pink or coral, are perfect for painting walls.
Yellow. This kitchen color is associated with sun and light. Warm shades of yellow tune in an optimistic mood, lead to a state of harmony. The kitchen set, made in yellow, looks great.
Orange. This color is even more optimistic than its predecessor, yellow. As a rule, orange is used to decorate the dining area. This color scheme creates a feeling of comfort and stimulates appetite well.
You cannot combine red, yellow and orange together in the kitchen. These are very strong colors, together they will overload the perception of the kitchen.
Blue. The color of the heavens and clear waters contributes to inner peace and tranquility. The walls of the kitchen, painted with blue paint, visually expand the room. In a positive way, we are talking about blue. Intense blue should not be used in large doses in the kitchen, as it suppresses appetite.
Green. The green color and all its shades look appropriate in the kitchen. Such a palette pacifies and calms, increases efficiency. Designers often combine green with yellow, yellow-brown to achieve the perfect kitchen interior.
Color combinations for kitchen decoration
Most designers enliven rooms by choosing color combinations for decoration. For example, a single white color will be perceived negatively, reminiscent of laboratory sterility. But in combination with blue or red, white is balanced.
Blue with red must be combined very carefully. It is much better to use purple in the design of the kitchen, which is a derivative of these two colors.
It is strongly not recommended to combine colors in a one-to-one ratio, it suppresses and reduces appetite. A good proportion is 5 parts of the base color and 3 parts of the complementary color.
