What cannot be stored next to the stove, why the sink cannot be placed next to the stove

Obviously, do not store flammable items nearby. However, not all products and even technology are able to endure such a neighborhood.

Interior designers say that in the kitchen, the stove is the head of everything. It is around her that the rest of the situation is built. First of all, you need to remember that a refrigerator should not be placed next to the stove. It does not tolerate hot neighborhoods so badly that it can deteriorate – we have already written about this in detail HERE. And not only common sense, feng shui is also against such a neighborhood. The refrigerator is considered to be the personification of the element of water, and the stove is considered to be fire. Therefore, their violent combination can spoil the aura of the apartment.

In addition, it is not advised to place a sink next to the stove. Yet electricity and water are not the best neighborhoods. Risking your health by creating a danger of a short circuit is definitely not worth it. In addition, detergents are always combined next to the sink. Splashes of soapy foam in boiling borscht are also a completely superfluous thing. And if water gets into the boiling oil, then at best everything around will be splattered with greasy splashes, at worst a fire may occur. And again, the rule of incompatible elements – fire and water. It is advised that the distance between the sink and the stove is at least half a meter.

The third ban is on the dishwasher. Experts say that she will inevitably heat up from a working stove, and this will certainly affect her own work.

Another not a good idea is to put the stove so that it blows from an open window. If you have a gas stove, then it is possible that the fire will blow out with a draft.

Honey

Honey is a useful sweetness that, if stored improperly, loses a significant part of the enzymes and vitamins for which it is so valued. You need to keep honey at temperatures from -5C ° to + 20C °. That is, if you can keep honey in the refrigerator, then it is strictly forbidden next to the stove. It is not advised to constantly rearrange honey from heat to cold, because of the temperature drop, it crystallizes and loses its taste, and it looks unsympathetic.

Besides, honey is afraid of water. It’s best to keep it in a tightly closed glass jar or – unexpectedly – a willow keg. And also protect from sunlight.

Spices and seasonings

They, like honey, prefer dry, dark and cool places. From heating, spices quickly lose quality: they become less aromatic, and the beneficial substances contained in them disintegrate. Therefore, it is better to keep them in tightly closed jars. And if you keep it in a bag, then use a special clip or a banal paper clip. In this case, it is better to add them to dishes with a spoon, and not directly from the bag: if hot steam gets inside, the shelf life of the spice decreases sharply.

By the way, paprika, paprika, poppy seeds, sesame seeds and chili are best kept not just cool, but in the refrigerator.

Vegetable oil

An absolute must-have in the kitchen. It would be logical to keep it close at hand to grease a pan or add to a salad. But no, if you put oil next to the stove, it will inevitably turn rancid and deteriorate. The storage temperature of sunflower oil should not exceed 18 ° C, mustard oil – 20 ° C, and olive oil – 25 ° C, the shelf life of an open bottle is only two months.

The optimum storage temperature for vegetable oil is only 15 ° C. That is, it feels best away from the stove, in the closet or kitchen cabinet.

Flour

This product is actually very moody. She does not like humidity, and temperature drops, and even attracts insects and absorbs odors. And next to the stove is almost all of this, except for insects.

The storage temperature of flour should not exceed 15 ° C, so it should be kept as far as possible from the stove, radiator and sunlight. Store flour in an airtight container, as it absorbs odors quickly, and away from vegetables. This can be the bottom shelf of the kitchen table, refrigerator or glazed balcony.

Nuts and seeds

We got nuts, and they are bitter. Agree, an unpleasant discovery, especially when you consider the price tag on them. To preserve nuts and seeds for as long as possible, they need to be dried properly, you can even bake them in the oven, tightly pack them in glass jars with lids (not in bags!) And put them in a cool, dark, dry place where they will be comfortable and safe. … By the way, the refrigerator is recognized as an ideal place for storing nuts.
