What betrays a person who underestimates himself?

Many tend to belittle their dignity. A negative attitude towards oneself prevents one from moving towards goals and making dreams come true. The reasons for this behavior may be a lack of self-esteem, self-doubt, loss of a sense of security. There are several signs that indicate that you have low self-esteem.

You don’t accept compliments

Modesty, of course, decorates, but overly timid behavior is proof of low self-esteem. The phrases “Well, what are you”, “Yes, it’s me by chance” testify to excessive modesty and inability to accept compliments.

Break the bad habit! Accept flattering words with pleasure and gratitude. If they say nice things to you, then you deserve it. Trust yourself and people.

Constantly referring to others

For example, “The husband says that …”, “The teacher believes that …”. With such turns, you emphasize disbelief in your own strength, in what you say.

If you work with people, speak in public, this manner of speaking will not add points. Constantly relying on the opinions of others, looking back at their judgments, you lose identity and authority.

You think of yourself last

When was the last time you allowed yourself a whim? People who value themselves little believe that there is no need to pamper themselves, that they are unworthy of small gifts and surprises.

Why not make yourself a pleasant trifle? Why completely sacrifice yourself for the sake of others? This is not constructive. You deserve better too.

Allow yourself to be pampered. Feel the value in your own eyes. This is not a manifestation of selfishness, this is one of the types of love and attentive attitude to one’s needs.

Others criticize you and see only flaws

Stop thinking that if someone is laughing next to you, then he will definitely taunt you. They give you a compliment, and you have the feeling that you have been given alms, that these words are insincere. This low self-esteem needs to end.

Believe in the purity of the intentions of the person who found a reason to praise you. You are not at all an object for ridicule. Realizing a simple truth, you will immediately feel stronger and more confident.

Do you consider yourself an ordinary person

A typical behavioral pattern with low self-esteem is disbelief in one’s own exclusivity. Let’s say someone invited you to the theater or gave you a gift. Are you sure that a person does the same with all the other acquaintances: “What is special about me? How am I different from others? or “Others are much better than me.”

Believe in yourself and your uniqueness. You are unique. Even if you doubt it, there are no two identical people and they treat you one way and not another, because you are one of a kind.

You say harsh words to yourself

Surely you call yourself all sorts of impartial words, scolding for a mistake, awkwardness, miscalculation. People with low self-esteem differ little from those who deliberately hurt themselves.

Punishing yourself with suffering is not constructive. It is better to face the imaginary or genuine problem and find a solution, overcome the situation and be proud of yourself.
