What are the risks for our health in the face of climate change?
In recent decades, climate change has been such that specialists have looked into the question to determine what risks it could cause to health. The consequences are numerous and sometimes serious.
WHO measurement of health effects
THEWHO tried to measure the impact of climate change on health assuming continued economic growth and health improvements.
While this measurement can only be approximate, the results are edifying: climate change could cause around 250 000 death additional per year between 2030 and 2050.
Still according to the WHO, 38 000 death are directly linked to heat exposure in the elderly, 48 are due to diarrhea, 000 to malaria, and 60 to undernourishment of children.
