For what reason does the neck hurt on the left side?

Good day. My neck has hurt since yesterday. This is exactly what it is left neck pain, it is difficult for me to define the area more precisely. I am healthy, the last time I had a cold was a few months ago. Besides the neck, I don’t feel bad either, so rather unlikely to neck pain was associated with some cold or other light illness. I also did not sleep badly, I take care of a comfortable pillow. If it had to do with sleeping, the pain would appear immediately after waking up, and I didn’t feel it until around noon.

What are the causes of pain in the left side of the neck? What could have happened that such pain arose for me? Is this an ailment I should be worried about in any way? Maybe go to the doctor or have some massages? Or maybe I should just wait for the neck pain to subside on its own. On the one hand, I would not like to go to the doctor with such stupid things, but on the other hand, I am worried if it is nothing serious. Could such a pain in the left side of the neck be dangerous? Is there anything to worry about or not? I will be grateful for help.

The doctor explains the causes of the pain in the left side of the neck

You should see your GP if the pain worsens or persists despite home treatment for several weeks, radiates pain to your arms or legs, or is accompanied by headache or paraesthesia. You should go to the Emergency Department if you develop symptoms such as muscle weakness in your arm or leg, you have trouble walking, or you have a high fever.

Most neck pains should resolve after home treatment by applying an ice pack to a tender area for 15 minutes at least 3 times a day. A warm shower or a warm bath in the bathtub, stretching the muscles of the neck to relieve muscle spasms, massage of the sore area can help. We can counteract neck pain by keeping a good, straight posture, especially in front of the computer – the monitor should be at eye level, and the lower back should be supported.
