What a 7-year-old child should be able to do: do housework, know, draw
In grade 1, a new life begins for a child with its own rules and requirements. Babies are not always ready for such changes, so parents should know in advance what a child should be able to do at 7 years old. This will help to properly set up the first grader to study.
Development crisis and upbringing problems
7 years is a transitional period in a child’s life. This is a difficult time for parents too. The kid begins to be capricious, does not want to obey a strict schedule and new orders. Against this background, disagreements and conflicts with elders arise. The child’s emotions are so strong that it is difficult to cope with them on their own. Support the first grader, help him adjust to a new rhythm. Now attention and care are important for him.
At the age of 7, it is still difficult for a child to sit in the classroom, he complains of fatigue, headache. This is a normal condition, the brain is getting bigger, the load is increasing, and the muscles of the arms are not yet fully strengthened. To smooth out all the symptoms, give the child the opportunity to rest, write to the sports sections or walk more often in the fresh air. Don’t forget about the vitamin complex.
Physically, the child does not stop developing, he loves to climb a tightrope, a Swedish wall, a ladder, plays with a ball, runs and jumps on one leg. These activities are only for the benefit of the baby, but it is important to set a time for them. Teach your child to the routine, take time for homework and rest.
What a 7-year-old child can do around the house
The first grader is already old enough and can do small housework:
- helps to prepare simple meals;
- goes to the store on his own;
- caring for animals;
- watering flowers.
Explain that self-care skills will be useful later. Help and guide, and praise your willingness to help.
What a first grader should know and be able to draw
All skills and abilities in grade 1 are improved. By the end of the year, the baby will learn:
- the names of planets, countries, cities, will learn its address;
- full names of relatives and friends, their dates of birth;
- seasons, days of the week and months;
- mathematical signs “+” and “-“, learn to use them;
- alphabet, numbers and shapes;
- rules of conduct on the road, at school, at home.
If the child was well prepared, then there should be no problems. Otherwise, work out with him additionally.
Fine motor skills never stop developing. Children not only draw, but also accurately paint over objects, apply even strokes, sculpt recognizable figures, add complex puzzles, and copy the drawing.
Be attentive to the first grader, not too demanding, do not force him to study, otherwise the desire and desire will disappear. Help in the first couples, but teach yourself to be independent.
