When you want to bring freshness and novelty into your life, you can start by changing your hairstyle. In this case, the best option would be wet chemistry, or vertical perm. It creates the effect of smooth curls, and hair looks beautiful and healthy. In addition, a playful curl hairstyle allows for a very feminine and romantic look.
Wet chemistry is done in beauty salons using small curlers and special curling products. Vertical curling lasts up to 3 months. If long-term chemistry for some reason does not suit you, you can do a hairstyle with the effect of wet chemistry on your hair yourself, at home.
To create wet chemistry you will need:
- waterproof cape
- tapered bobbins
- comb with fine teeth
- fixing agent
- curling compound
- sponge
- bowl (it is better to use porcelain, but in no case metal)
- measuring cylinder
- 3 towels
- protective gloves
- warming cap, cream
- 6% or 9% vinegar
Before starting the procedure, make sure that the length and structure of your hair is acceptable for wet chemistry. Vertical curling is more suitable for long hair. Before the procedure, it is preferable not to dye the hair, and also to treat it well with the help of caring agents – conditioners, balms, masks, serums, etc.
Wash your hair 2 times immediately before the procedure. You can use laundry soap for this, as it loosens the hair structure, thereby making them more receptive to the composition.
Find the right perm for your hair type – normal, dry or oily – and check for allergenicity. To do this, apply a small amount to your wrist and wait for 10 minutes. If the area is red, choose a different curling product.
Divide the wet hair into strands according to the width of the bobbin, then wrap the hair around it, wrapping it around its axis. Apply the cream to the face near the hairline and wrap with a rolled towel. Then put on protective gloves and a cape.
Important: with vertical chemistry, hair should be twisted not from the ends, but from the roots
Prepare the composition in a small bowl according to the instructions that came with the curler. Immediately after that, apply the mixture to the hair with a sponge, using a blotting motion. Now cover your head with a film, and on top – with a warming cap. The holding time of the curler depends on your hair. In order not to burn them, do not violate the instructions.
After you have kept the composition for the allotted time, wash it off with warm water (without removing the bobbins), lather and apply the fixer with a clean sponge. Wait 7-10 minutes, then gently remove the bobbins and let your hair “rest” for 5 minutes. Then rinse your hair, then rinse it with a vinegar solution. Apply a firming balm, then dry your hair without using a hair dryer. Try not to wash your hair for 3 days.
