Weighing from a baby: the largest avocado in the world is grown

Tireless work, kind heart and continuity of generations – for sure, the phenomenal agro-success of the Japanese Kenji Fukumitsu is based on these three whales. He managed to grow the world’s largest avocados.

Kenji lives in Hawaii and growing avocados is a matter of both his life and the lives of his parents and family in general. For 80 years now, the Fukumitsu family has been engaged in this activity. And, interestingly, all fruits are harvested from one tree. The first tree was grafted by Kenji’s older brother Fukumitsu back in 1941 and continues to bear fruit to this day.

The plant always bears large fruits. But recently I was surprised by the fetus, which weighed more than 2,7 kg, which is equivalent to the body weight of a newborn baby.

An avocado weighing 2,7 kilograms has every chance of getting into the Guinness Book of Records – the previous largest avocado weighed 200 grams less.

Kenji Fukumitsu says that they eat the grown avocados themselves, sell a little and give a part to the local hospital.

We will remind, earlier we wrote about what avocado can be harmful.
