“You are my plump”, “You are my donut” — parents often utter such “harmless” and affectionate, in their opinion, words addressed to their overweight children, without assuming the seriousness of the consequences. One in four teenage girls suffer from banter from their parents or ridicule from their siblings*. The words of relatives offend girls, reduce their self-esteem and exacerbate depressive experiences associated with hormonal changes in the body. Teenagers are ready to discuss their «weighty» problems, but only face to face.
