This month seems to be made for relaxation and travel. The weather is almost summer, but there is still no such sweltering heat that will accompany us all three summer months. During the day it is usually pleasantly warm, the sun is already warming more than usual, but the nights are still cool, so the morning and evening are wrapped in a unique comfort.
And the May holidays, which we are waiting for! Go away from the city, to the dacha, go hiking, or just get out to the nearest park, fry kebabs on the fire and open the outdoor recreation season … And all this does not even count the vacation.
In May, you can go on sightseeing tours, see new places. Walking around the cities will be comfortable and easy. The weather is mild, without sudden changes and temperature jumps.
Numerous festivals are held at this time in many countries. One of the most unusual is the Chimney Sweep Festival (Rochester, UK), which usually takes place in early May. About 600 chimney sweeps are still officially employed in England, and meeting one of the representatives of this profession means great luck. Canada hosts the annual Tulip Festival, an incredible sight and the largest tulip festival in the world, where more than one million flowers are planted. In May, France hosts the annual Cannes Film Festival. If you find yourself at this time in Cannes, you can meet celebrities on the Cote d’Azur. Also at the end of May, the Night of Museums, beloved by s, is held, when anyone can get acquainted with the expositions of various museums, getting there at night (in most cases, all museums are open for free and free access), participate in competitions and listen to educational lectures.

On this day in 1945, the Great Patriotic War ended. Everyone congratulates the veterans, remembers those who did not return from the battlefields and everyone who contributed to the victory over the Nazi invaders. Military parades are held in cities, exhibitions of equipment and commemorative events are held, and in the evening, traditional festive fireworks bloom in the sky.
May 7th is Radio Day, the 12th is Nurse’s Day, and on the 25th the last bell rings for schoolchildren and the summer holidays begin.
There are many army holidays in May: the Day of the Creation of the Armed Forces of Our Country and the Day of the Signalman and Specialist of the Radio Engineering Service of the Navy (May 7), the Day of the Black Sea Fleet (May 13), the Day of the Baltic Fleet (May 18), the Day of the Pacific Fleet and the Day of the Military Interpreter (21 May), Border Guard Day (May 28), Military Motorist Day (May 29).

When is it profitable to take a vacation in May 2023
With all the advantages of the last month of spring, this is not the most profitable option for a vacation if its financial component is important to you. You will receive very little vacation pay this month, since they directly depend on the number of working days.
If vacation days are not in the first place for you, and you want to increase the number of days of rest, then May will be an excellent option. Add your vacation to the weekend and go on a long trip! If you are expecting a large bonus, then try to leave after receiving it so that it gets into the calculation of vacation pay: you compensate for a short working month with at least a small bonus. But if you have recently been on sick leave, it is better to postpone your vacation – you will get much less than in a normal month. On the other hand, after an illness, you want to relax and recover, which is extremely important to increase tone and immunity.
In any case, May is a wonderful month that will allow you to relax and gain strength, regardless of whether you go on vacation or not.
