Lawn grass will not be able to completely destroy them, but it will help to minimize the number and eliminate the need for constant weeding of the territory. How to Sow Weed-Killing Grass
Before sowing lawn grass, it is necessary to prepare the soil for planting it – treat it with herbicides, then remove dry and surviving weed roots. It is advisable to perform this procedure in the spring, since adult plants throw out seeds that are carried by the wind through the surrounding area.
Grass is planted before the start of frost. In cold ground, seeds cannot germinate and die. Seed germination time ranges from 3 to 6 weeks. The most favorable time for planting seeds is from April to May.
Sowing seeds is done in calm weather, since the wind can interfere with the even distribution of the seed. You need to sow in a dense layer so that there are no gaps where pest plants will sprout. In places where there will be no shoots, you should sow the seeds later.
The planting is done on dry ground and then watered abundantly. For irrigation, use a hose with a spray nozzle so that the jet of water does not wash out the soil along with the seeds. This can lead to bald spots. Before watering, the soil with seeds is loosened with a rake and compacted with a roller.
Lawn grass cannot completely rid the backyard of parasitic plants. Until it grows, it is necessary to manually remove the weeds along with the roots, which break through at the same time as the grass. Once the lawn grass is sufficiently strong, it will drown out the weeds and eliminate the need to remove them all the time.
