Weed control: vinegar, herbicides
Weeds absorb nutrients and moisture from the soil. Cultivated plants do not receive the necessary components for growth, which leads to a decrease in their productivity. To combat weeds, herbicides or alternative methods are used.
Weed control with herbicides
Herbicide chemical preparations contain active components that destroy weeds. Means containing a complex of active substances are more effective. Herbicide solutions are used for soil irrigation, seed and plant treatment in any phase of the growing season. Some types of drugs penetrate into plant tissues, others act on the surface.
The action of herbicides can be continuous or selective. Solid formulations are used to control weeds throughout the treated area. Selective herbicides are effective against weeds that attack a particular crop. Chemical components dry out the plant. As a result, within a couple of weeks after treatment, it dies. The most effective solutions are:
- “Tornado”;
- “Lazurite”;
- “Agrokiller”;
- “Londrell Zoo”;
- “Hurricane-forte”;
- Roundup.
Herbicides can be applied before or after emergence. Pre-emergence preparations are used to cultivate the land after digging. Weed control occurs before growth. Postemergence agents are used for spraying above-ground vegetation. They are less toxic to cultivated plants.
A popular method of weed control is the use of vinegar. It is used both alone and in combination with other ingredients. For spraying weeds, you can use:
- A solution of 6% vinegar – 5 cups of vinegar must be diluted with water to a volume of 2 liters. Do not allow the product to come into contact with cultivated plants. The acidity of the soil will not increase during processing. Processing must be carried out every 2 weeks.
- Acetic-salt solution – for every 3 liters of vinegar, add 120 g of salt. To prevent the product from dripping from the weeds, a little liquid soap is added to it.
Spraying from weeds should be carried out in the morning or evening. Chemical herbicides are resistant to climate change. Their effectiveness does not depend on temperature and precipitation. Vinegar should not be used in the rain. Water will wash away the solution.
Chemicals affect the whole plant. They attack the root and destroy the weed. Solutions with vinegar dry out the aerial part and stop the growth of weeds.
