We wind kilometers for health. More cities are joining the nationwide cycling campaign

Cycling is one of the most popular physical activities in Poland. No wonder then that already 50 cities have decided to take part in this year’s edition of the competition for the Cycling Cup of the Capital City of Poland. Fun or competition? Satisfaction or rewards? Whatever prompts the participants to take part in this action, it is certain that they share their love for two circles. The main goal of the project, the initiator and organizer of which is the city of Bydgoszcz, is to promote cycling as a healthy and ecological means of transport.

The best way to stay healthy and slim

Regular cycling allows us to keep our body in good shape and health. Exercise increases the efficiency of our body and allows you to burn unnecessary calories. In a healthy body, healthy mind. It’s fair to say that cycling makes you happy! During activity on two wheels, the level of endorphins increases, which in turn has a positive effect on our well-being and improves our mood. Bicycle rides help to cope with stress, improve memory, study and work efficiency and the ability to make efficient decisions.

Systematically means effective

It is worth taking care of the regularity of bicycle training. Only cyclical cycling will bring the desired results. In this situation, mobile sports applications turn out to be reliable. They have many useful functions that help organize our activity. They are a tool that allows you to record and compare the workouts performed, their time, distance traveled, calories burned or average speed.

Which application to choose? The city of Bydgoszcz came out with an interesting offer of a free mobile application. By downloading the “Active Cities” application, in addition to accessing many standard options, you gain the opportunity to take part in national competitions, including the already mentioned competition for the Cycling Cup of the Capital City of Poland! The June cycling competition is a fantastic adventure for all lovers of two wheels!

I ride a bike because I love life

Thanks to bicycle rides, we are healthier, energetic and ready to face the daily duties. This is confirmed by many people who practice cycling or cycling, both professionally and as amateurs.

I ride a bike because I love life – says Marek Leśniewski * – ambassador of the nationwide project Bicycle Capital of Poland – Cycling is my health prevention. (…) Remember that cycling is part of a healthy lifestyle. I encourage all cyclists to follow a balanced diet individually tailored to the body and the level of activity we perform. (…) As a recreational person practicing sports today, I take care of the right number of meals a day, a specific total number of calories in the daily menu, appropriate proportions of macronutrient content in the diet and a certain amount of water drunk. The diet of people professionally practicing sports differs from that used by people who treat physical activity recreationally. Cycling is my health prevention. While cycling, I take care of my heart, keep my joints mobile, strengthen my muscles, avoid metabolic problems, strengthen my immunity to infections, keep my body fit, stay fit and more resistant to infections. (…) For me, cycling is more than just caring for a healthy body. While riding a bike, I provide myself with endorphins, happiness hormones that keep me in a good mood. I improve my brain function and enjoy good concentration of attention, speed of reaction to various stimuli and good memory. Thanks to cycling, I experience positive contacts with other people. I invariably relax while communing with the nature that surrounds me while cycling.
