Speak correctly
- Say “I recommend you” instead of “you should”. For example: “You should go to the exhibition”. You put pressure on the other person with the word “should”. You take away from him the opportunity to make a decision on his own. “I recommend you” sounds a lot more welcoming and positive.
- Cross the phrase “honestly” out of your vocabulary. It sounds like honesty is the exception to you.
- Cross the words “actually” and “proper” from your vocabulary. For example: “This is correct.” Instead of: “Well, in general, this is correct.” “Generally” does not contain any information and is perceived as limiting.
