Case for ipod nano
A lot of troubles await the player in the bag. It can get scratched, for example, on a bunch of keys, get dirty with ink from a pen cap that has accidentally lost its cap, or hit something hard during a sudden movement. Such a cover will protect the player from all these troubles, and if you make the top layer of waterproof fabric, you will also save it from moisture. Plus, it’s just a cute and bright accessory.
You will need:
- Two pieces of suitable fabric of sufficient width (player width + 4 cm) and length (player length x3 + 2-3 cm, depending on the thickness of the player). If you have an iPod nano, as in our case, in order to sew it a “suit”, you need two pieces of 24 x 8.5 cm.
- A piece of tape is 2-2,5 cm longer than the width of the fabric. IPod nano requires a 10 cm long tape.
- Sewing machine. But if you try to sew smoothly and neatly, or if you want to emphasize that the thing is hand made, you can get by with a needle and thread.
1. Cut the size of the fabric out of the fabric. Fold right sides together and sew around the perimeter, leaving seam allowances. Leave a small hole open on one of the narrow sides of the rectangle. Through it we will turn out the future cover.
2. Use scissors to cut the corners, leaving a couple of millimeters to the seam. Unscrew the workpiece, straighten it and iron it properly with an iron.
3. Sew on the side you left the hole on. It’s time for the first fitting: wrap the player in a future case, check if all the sizes match.
4. Mark the loop for the headphone cord. A sewing machine with a special automatic sewing function is ideal for sewing buttonholes. If not, gently overcast the hole by hand.
5. Fold the blank. Take a ribbon or braid and place it between the pieces.
6. While holding the tape, sew on one side of the cover. Start sewing on the other side, but do not finish, but stop near the place where the tape should be fixed.
7. Twist the fabric to finish the stitching without hitting the tape. It remains to tie the knots and hide the threads. The iPod suit is ready.
