A charity run of the Naked Heart Foundation by Natalia Vodianova took place in the capital this morning. The beauty editor shares her personal jogging experience and shares who came to support the celebrities.
The race was attended by Olympic and Paralympic champions, theater and film stars, artists, journalists, businessmen and other media personalities, as well as corporate running teams of large companies, press and television. All funds raised during the Running Hearts Green Marathon, according to the organizers, will be transferred to the Naked Heart Foundation for Children.
For beginner runners, a 3 km track was provided. It was possible to overcome it in 15 minutes. Most of the participants decided on the standard distance of 10 km in the Moscow environment – it went along the alleys around Moscow State University.
The distance was not easy because of the differences in altitude – on the climbs, I felt how the calves were “hammered”. In such cases, there is a cool piece of advice – you shouldn’t take a step. It is better to run very slowly than to walk. This is a psychological moment – once you brake, it will be very difficult to force yourself to run again, especially at such a short distance as 10 kilometers.
Well, now a little about the situation – the organization of the race was great! Every two kilometers, participants were offered water, cola, fruit, and a gel that resembles liquid jam. I haven’t seen anything like this in the top ten for three years – now the races, unfortunately, are more and more economical. And here is such a pleasant surprise, but, by the way, with its own nuances.
Running tip number two – Don’t try drinks and food in a race if you’ve never had a snack before running. It sounds trite, but it often tempts to experiment, especially when you see the coveted soda or gels after eight kilometers of monotonous running. The unusual texture of the liquid and very sweet concentrate can cause coughing, but who needs to slow down because of this? My first acquaintance with the sports food was extremely unsuccessful – I swallowed an unfamiliar gel a kilometer before the finish line to accelerate. And she ran the rest of the time with her lips glued together because of the sweetness – not the most pleasant feeling at the finish. It turned out that it was a composition of those that need to be washed down with water, and there are those who swallow without it.
Also, I do not advise wearing new sneakers, leggings and bras for races – all this can rub, even if it seems super comfortable.
Naturally, the event, organized by the Natalia Vodianova Foundation, attracted many celebrities. Among the participants was Polina Kitsenko, famous for her sporting achievements, Elena Krygina, a make-up artist, an athlete and Olympic champion Evgeny Plushenko, hosts Olga Shelest and Aurora, and a singer Lena Temnikova. The stars spent their time in a special tent, where there was a photo session with Natalia Vodianova and Polina Kitsenko, and also supported their relatives and fled themselves in a general group. It was one of the most democratic events with the participation of stars – there are many photos of fans on the network who could freely approach their idols and take a selfie before or after passing the distance.
