We make storage from glass jars, boxes, caskets
How to get rid of the clutter and transform the interior with the most common cans, boxes and other containers that have accumulated in the house.
4 main principles of dealing with household trash
These four principles will help you in your daily struggle for a living space with tons of unnecessary things.
1. Fill
All kinds of containers are an invaluable household item. And we keep putting all these super-necessary things together just in case. As a result, the drawers of the wardrobes are bursting with such “goodness”, and a suitable occasion does not turn up. In order not to create blockages, we suggest asking yourself a question, even before you have time to shove your favorite packaging further into the closet: why could this beautiful little jar be useful to me? If silence is the answer to you, feel free to throw it away. But use all sorts of plain boxes, baskets of berries, empty jars and bottles in order to decorate the house with them and hide all sorts of things in them – from receipts and business cards to paper clips and spices.
2. Group
Collect unnecessary containers into a single composition. They look much better together. A bunch of assorted boxes is a real mess. But a group united by shape or color is already a decorative composition.
3. Find a new use
While your lidless sugar bowl and wobbly stool can no longer be used for its intended purpose, they are by no means useless. You can give them a second life by inventing new uses.
4. Learn to throw away
If a wonderful box or jar, alas, does not correspond to any of the above points, send it to the trash bin without regret.
1. Fold your photos, cards, and letters into shoeboxes
Why waste money on cardboard storage boxes when you have a whole bunch of unnecessary shoe bags accumulating in your closet?
Choose the strongest ones and use them to store emails,
Put all this beauty on a wardrobe or rack and be sure to mark it (for example, with the help of bright stickers with inscriptions) so that you know where what lies.
It is best if the boxes match in color.
2. Transfer the cotton balls and sticks to the berry baskets
You can, of course, leave them in factory plastic packaging and bags, but it is much more aesthetically pleasing to adapt one common “vessel” for these necessary funds – for example, a basket of strawberries or raspberries – a bathroom design from such an accessory “a la nature” will only benefit. True, before filling it with contents, the basket will have to be thoroughly washed with a brush and dried.
3. Store stationery in glass jars
In order not to look for a paper clip in a pile of buttons, and an eraser in all the drawers of the desk, sort the clerical change into banks. The more interesting the shape of the can, the better. The most original glass containers are usually made from honey, jam and small pickled cherry tomatoes.
4. Create a sculptural composition
A great way to turn a mess into a decorative technique is to create a sculptural composition from available jars and vases. Ideally, all these objects should be combined in some way – for example, in color or the material from which they are made.
5. Make candlesticks out of glass jars
Homemade candlesticks from curly jars can be a great alternative to all kinds of purchased cups and candle holders. Line them up on a windowsill or in a group in the center of the coffee table. And don’t forget to add a little water to the bottom of the jar before placing the candle in it. This will help to remove the burnt wax more easily.
6. Use glass bottles as vases
Do your shelves resemble a collection point for glass containers? This resemblance is “not to face” the interior. Beautiful curly colored glass bottles can be easily turned into original semi-antique vases. Dip the bottles in warm water to get rid of the labels and they will instantly take on a new look. Place them on an open kitchen shelf so that light can pass through the colored glass. You can put a dried blade of grass or one single flower in such a vase. It doesn’t matter which one. Even sunny
7. Turn the chair into a bedside table
If a wobbly squeaky chair is about to fall apart, you can, of course, throw it into the dustbin of history, or you can find another “occupation” for it. It will make a wonderful bedside table in a small room. To make this piece of furniture look harmonious, paint it to match the bedroom set. It is convenient to hang light clothes on the back, and there is enough space on the seat for the books you read before bed, an alarm clock, a small lamp and a glass of water.
8. Make a vase out of a sugar bowl
The lid of a sugar bowl or a teapot is broken – no doubt, it’s for luck! Now this wonderful vessel is becoming a romantic vase for a small, lovely bouquet. Here you can put an armful of forget-me-nots, forest geraniums or some other summer meadow flowers. If desired, you can place larger flowers in it – roses, cornflowers, swimsuits,
9. Turn the saucer into a soap dish
A lonely saucer left over from an old service can start a new life, but not in the kitchen, but in the bathroom. Let it become a soapbox. Sophisticated painting, gold trim or curly edges will contrast perfectly with clean lines and whiteness
10. Use plates as flower pots
If you have accumulated a lot of different colored plates that you have not put on the table for a long time, find a new use for them. Now let them serve you separately. For example, as stands for flower pots. And do not be afraid of contrast: a brown clay pot and a white porcelain plate are a great set for a white windowsill. Another idea is to put such a plate in the hallway: it will be convenient to put keys and all kinds of small things out of pockets in it.
