We develop fine motor skills of hands in children of primary preschool age

Even the ancient philosophers called the fingertips the second mind. The development of fine motor skills is directly related to the development of the nervous system, vision, attention, memory of the child and, most importantly, with the development of speech. There is a simple explanation for this: in the brain, the motor and speech centers are close neighbors. Small finger movements stimulate the speech center of the brain. It is by the level of development of fine motor skills that experts conclude that the child is ready for school.

Play massage techniques for palms suitable even for the smallest children, for example, everyone’s favorite games of “Magpie-crow”, “There is a horned goat” or “Ladushki”. There are many games for older children too.

“Palm-fist”

Sit in front of the baby, press your palms to the table. The essence of the game: the kid, repeating after you, alternately squeezes his hands into a fist and unclenches them back, pressing them to the table. The adult sets the pace of the game by saying:

“If you want, do this too:

Here is a palm, and here is a fist! “

As you watch your child closely, make the game harder by changing the pace.

“Finger-boy”

The exercise is performed for each hand separately. Starting with the little finger, all fingers alternately bend and unbend.

“Finger-boy, where have you been?

With this brother went to the forest,

With this brother soup cooked,

With this brother porridge ate,

I sang songs with this brother! “

“Hooks”

Clasp the little fingers of both hands together like hooks and stretch, creating tension. Then repeat for the remaining pairs of fingers.

“The little friends are holding on tightly,

We can’t unclench their hooks! “

Touch games, will give children untold pleasure if you pick up interesting textures and volumes.

“We are looking for a treasure!”

Mix the beans with rice and peas in a bowl or saucepan. Hide small toys inside and ask your toddler to find them. If age permits, let the child do it with his eyes closed, guessing by touch what kind of object he got out.

“Fantiki”

Wrap large beads and buttons in candy wrappers made of multi-colored paper. Try to choose a wrapper of different textures: glossy, matte, velvet, foil, transparent film, napkins, and so on. Invite your child to unfold all the “sweets”, and then, if age permits, randomly wrap them back.

“Snowballs”

For this game you will also need different textures of paper. Roll snowballs out of paper. Place the snowballs in a cloud bag. It is important that the bag is small: then the child, running his hand there, will feel the texture of each snowball well with his fingers. Well, now let the kid feel like an assistant to Santa Claus and make a snowfall, throwing snowballs all over the house!

“(Child’s name) smiles,

Joyfully played

Climbs into the bag with handles,

And then there is a snowball! “

“Drawing in the Sand”

Place a layer of sand on the tray. Using the child’s finger, show him that you can draw lines, rectangles, circles on the sand. Now let him try it himself. Don’t be discouraged if he doesn’t succeed right away. Well, if the sand is multi-colored, then drawing will become even more interesting!

Theatrical Games, in which the hands of a child play the main role, will surely delight him and quickly become loved.

“Finger Theater”

Draw on the baby’s fingers and on your own funny faces of little people or animals. Play with your child some interesting story from fairy tales, in which the characters will take turns talking to each other.

The game can be played in another version, if you put on your fingers ready-made (purchased or sewn on your own) figurines with animal faces. Then it will be a finger puppet theater.

“Shadow play”

For this game you only need a white wall, twilight and a table lamp. Teach your child to fold the silhouettes of birds and animals from their hands, and play a real shadow theater on the wall.
