He noted that the number of new cases of coronavirus infections will become noticeable when it is several thousand infections a day.

“What we see on paper in the number of cases not entirely – especially in systems that test mainly symptomatic people – reflects the real number” – pointed out prof. Parczewski. “I would like the cases that will occur not to be among the unvaccinated – because they get sick, and it is hard,” he continued.

He added that currently several people with COVID-19 are sent to the Szczecin provincial hospital every day, mostly unvaccinated. Single vaccinated people confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus have had mild disease. As he said, such people are also less infectious.

When asked if he expected the number of vaccinated people to be higher in the summer, Prof. Parczewski admitted that he hoped that it would be 70 percent at the beginning of autumn. population and that more children will be vaccinated.
