Wday tests: minimalist manicure

It often happens that, having heard about a fashion trend, girls come to the salon and want something like that. So we decided to ask the master only the topic of “minimalism”, and then let him do what he heard, guessed or “googled” about on the sly. We deliberately did not show the sample.

We will tell you how we managed to simulate the situation of a capricious client.

– When it comes to manicure, I am a conservative: I like natural shades and not a fan of decor. Minimalism is, first of all, competent care of the cuticle and nail plate, therefore, if you want to do such a manicure, know that all attention will be focused on how accurately it is done. I went to the Sparkle Beauty Bar – I was bribed by the location and the fact that the salon is new.

Twilight reigns in the cabin – very useful for those who look at the monitor all day. The master decided to do a combined manicure – to lift the cuticle with an apparatus, and then remove it with tweezers. This procedure takes longer, but it is safer: there is no risk of injuring thin skin. The nail rollers were also treated with the apparatus, but not red-hot, so as not to provoke growth. The manicure was done very well: I liked the efforts of the master, it is clear that the salon thinks of the client as a person, and not just as a pair of hands with nails (and this often happens in streaming salons).

A rubber base was chosen for the coating: according to the master, it protects nails from damage that occurs during drying and subsequent removal, and is generally more environmentally friendly than standard ones.

I chose the translucent coating myself. The master was not surprised to hear about minimalism, and said that such a coverage fits perfectly into a strict dress code. But then no drawings!

For a week and a half of wearing, the coating did not chip, there was not a single bubble or cracks, it was painted end-to-end with the cuticle, so the nails practically did not grow back. The shade perfectly matches the natural color of the nails, which means that you can wear it for a long time without fear of a messy look.

Evaluation: 10 out of 10, very high-quality service for adequate money and a pleasant salon in the center of Moscow.

– In general, minimalism is completely my trend. I do not like rhinestones and complex patterns on nails, and therefore whenever I come to the salon, I ask you to make an ordinary monochromatic coating in a classic shade – pink, red or burgundy. True, sometimes you still want something unusual in the spirit of the latest fashion trends. So, having gone to Wax & Go on Malaya Bronnaya, I asked the master to create a trendy minimalist manicure for me.

Expectation: I wanted something simple, stylish and original. I was ready for any experiments on the part of the master, except for sparkles and feng shui. I categorically do not like these trends in nail design. In addition, for the first time in my life I decided to try unedged manicure. Expectations regarding him were the most optimistic: finally, my delicate fingers will not be as badly injured as during the edging technique!

Reality: master Anna immediately began with adjusting the length, after which she processed each finger with a file: she sawed off the cuticle, smoothed the surface of the nail and shaped it. Then I applied the Smith & Cult base. The hardest part began when it was necessary to choose a shade of varnish. I immediately said that I would like a minimalist manicure, without sparkles and other decor. The choice fell on a light pale peach shade of lacquer from the Smith & Cult collection, which slightly refreshed the laconic design with a small geometric pattern. The drawing was applied with a maroon varnish of the same brand using a very fine brush. The process lasted about two hours, during which I had time to enjoy the “collar” with hot volcanic sand, a cup of green tea and the movie “Ghost in the Shell”. In addition, before varnishing the nails, the master did the standard Christina Fitzgerald elbow care. After peeling and cream, the skin on the hands became just the softest.

Evaluation: 10 out of 10. I really liked the non-standard design – laconic, but at the same time with a twist. Plus, I was delighted with the unedged technique, the quality of the varnish and the work of the master in general. Resistant varnish – not a single chip in a week. The cuticle is not frayed, no burrs, as it happened to me after a trim manicure.

– I do not like bright trends, therefore, when the editorial office gave the task to test minimalism, or rather, as the master of one or another beauty salon sees it, I was overjoyed. Firstly, I really like this style, and secondly, I was to feel the whole gamut of feelings in the salon Mrs. Right Natural Beauty, the concept of which appeals to me.

Expectation: it was very interesting for me to participate in this experiment. Frankly, I myself did not know before that there is such a trend in nail design as minimalism. Therefore, I completely surrendered myself to the master, asking only that these were pastel shades. After all, I had to walk with this “beauty” for at least two weeks, so it would be nice if the chosen range was in harmony with the basic wardrobe and looked appropriate in the office.

Reality: punctual by nature, I arrived at the salon already 30 minutes before the opening! Expecting that they would send me another walk, I wrapped myself chilly and looked at the gloomy sky. Wandering in the rain wasn’t a fun prospect at all. But! I was kindly invited to enter, seated in front of a large window and made delicious coffee. All I could do was drink the scalding drink and watch the people hurrying about their business on this cloudy day.

At the appointed hour, my master Marina appeared and, casting a cursory glance at my nails, began to make beauty. We started by immersing my hands in a bath of warm water, then did an unedged manicure (only a few places had to pinch off the excess), and then proceeded to the magical moment – applying gel polish and nail design. Together with Marina, we chose a neutral base shade (each layer was dried separately), and then the master armed herself with a thin brush and began to draw patterns in a contrasting color. Frankly, even I did not clearly understand what this minimalism means, it turned out: a laconic design, consisting of lines that the master harmoniously applies over the main color. Moreover, you can arrange all the nails in a similar way, but we stopped at a couple.

After the main manipulation with the design, Marina applied a top coat to consolidate the result, and massaged my hands with a special cream. At that moment, I was already squinting with pleasure and did not even notice how 1,5 hours flew by. The skin on the hands became soft and tender, and the nails – neat and, as the specialist promised me, protected. This means that they will not break in the near future and I will be able to grow my length again.

Evaluation: 10 out of 10. I was satisfied with the work of the master and the quality of the manicure. I was promised that he will stay new for at least two weeks, and, I must admit, everything goes to this! At least it’s been a few days now, and my manicure still looks great.

– Manicure for me is another way of meditation and an opportunity to be alone with yourself. Alas, time for such a pleasant pastime is not often found, as, indeed, for trips to beauty salons. So if you have already come, then you purchase all the services at once, and if the manicure, then such that it will last for a long time and that it fits most of the wardrobe. Nude shades are just what I need. Minimalism is exactly what appeals to my character.

Expectation: a woman’s hands should be neat and well-groomed. Coverage – not to be conspicuous with its defiant coloring and not to conflict with most of the outfits. These are, perhaps, all my main requirements. Oh yes! I still don’t like it when a manicure master uses a nail file like a chainsaw. Sometimes it happens. Quite painful, you know …

Reality: I went to tidy up my pens in the salon “Manicure”. Honestly, I’ve been online before (albeit at a different metro station), and therefore I knew what to expect. The salon on Prechistenka did not disappoint me. Master Malika did everything according to technology. I corrected the length, treated the cuticle and applied Luxio gel polish.

As for the color, the choice fell on a nude shade. Malika immediately read me and offered him exactly (as they say, +1 in her piggy bank).

At the end, the nails were oiled to soften the cuticles and the well-groomed handles to last longer. The whole procedure took 40 minutes. Only 40! It’s a great time!

One of the most pleasant moments: while I was getting my manicure, the screens in the salon were showing “Sex and the City – 1”. The heroines of their favorite picture tried on the dresses in the film, and they painted my nails. At some point it seemed that I was also the heroine of the film!

I also really enjoyed the customer treats. Coffee, sweets and my favorite tubes with condensed milk. It would seem, what does the sweets have to do with it? And how nice! You sit and think: “They care about me.”

Evaluation: 10 out of 10. I left the salon not only with a perfect manicure, but also having breakfast and very happy.

Reality: I went to Nailsoffice. The salon is located in one of the most fashionable places in Moscow – at Trekhgornaya Manufactory. And it fully justifies its location. Fashionable interior, friendly staff … I got an amazing master who not only quickly and accurately did the trimmed manicure, but also gave a short lecture on gel polishes. For example, did you know that the master should remove the coating not from himself, but to himself? In order not to damage the nail plate!

But this time, of course, it was more interesting to look not so much at the work of the master as at the updated line, which includes the most fashionable shades of the fall-winter season.

It turned out that GelColor 360 was applied using standard technology. But in practice it looks just charming. A photo, perhaps, will say better than words here. The picture shows the shade Snow us your tips, which immediately gave me a New Year mood.

The new coating shone, unlike others, it did not scratch in the sock and lasted for about a week and a half. The term is very worthy, taking into account the daily preparation and washing of dishes, as well as a special love for bath procedures.

By the way, when the moment of deletion came, I realized that the manufacturers were a little distorted by saying about 7 minutes. The product was removed from the nails after 5 minutes.

Evaluation: 9 of 10.

– I rarely go to nail salons, I prefer to do it myself. I’m skeptical about gel coatings: it’s boring with the same color for a long time. Especially if it is bright – on the third day you already want to get rid of it.

For testing I got the company “OleHouse” – this is a school for training masters of manicure, pedicure, design and modeling of nails. I went to them in the afternoon, several ladies of different ages were sitting on the waiting sofas – at certain hours they get a manicure practically free of charge. A good life hack for those who are not busy during working hours.

Expectation: it was very interesting how the master understands the style of minimalism. I was in anticipation, in my head I went through different options: transparent varnish and thin black lines or colored lines and a cute drawing, monochromatic varnish. In general, light, sweet and discreet.

Reality: when voicing the task of how to paint my nails, master Oksana was a little confused. Since they have released a new autumn collection Nightspell from Vinylux CND – classic autumn, rich and deep colors: plum, cherry, purple, azure, the master opted for purple, adding a design in the form of dots at the base of the nail. The procedure took no more than an hour. She cleaned the cuticle carefully and diligently.

Evaluation: 7 out of 10. Still, the points at the base of the nail look a little strange, when moving it often seemed to me that my hands were dirty. On the 5th day, the varnish began to peel off the edges of the nails, and on the seventh day I took it off.
