Wday tests: luxury and mass market for the eye contour

– I am 24 years old, but wrinkles are already forming under my eyes. In general, it does not bother me much, but sometimes in a fit of criticism towards myself I pull out gray hairs (yes) and look with horror at the “crow’s feet” and grooves. Many beauticians claim that up to 30 you can deal with this with a cream and serum – well, I tried.

Expectations: Weleda Wild Rose, a non-perfumed, especially well-tolerated eye cream, revitalizes the skin. Eyebright and stonecrop purpurea herbal extracts care for the sensitive area around the eyes in case of overexertion and irritation.

Reality: even for a cream under the eyes, the tube is too small – only 10 ml. I love it when it is like this, because it doesn’t lie in leftovers – you either immediately understand what is “yours”, or you overdid it. I rarely apply the cream beyond the orbital bone – it must be strictly along the contour, otherwise there is a risk of eye irritation. Weleda turned out to be a dense cream with almost no odor, as organic should be. It is absorbed very quickly and does not roll off under a layer of concealer – this is a prerequisite for any product under the eyes (which is why, by the way, I never use gel textures – they hopelessly roll off my skin at any cost). As a day cream, Wild Rose did not disappoint: the skin really looked fresh.

Unfortunately, for my normal skin with frequent clogged pores, Weleda did not work as a remedy for the night: the next day my eyes were slightly swollen and itchy.

Evaluation: 7 out of 10, a good daytime remedy, but I would take something else at night.

Promise: The updated formula includes royal jelly concentrate, one of the most valuable bee products. Its intense action makes the eye area look significantly younger with each application: wrinkles are smoothed, swelling and dark circles are softened, the skin becomes denser and more elastic, replenished with new radiance and looks noticeably younger and toned.

Reality: I know and dearly love the Abelle Royale series – it is not cheap, but the effect is really there. The texture is a dense and at the same time pliable cream that spreads over the eyelids without effort and (which is very important for the cream around the eyes) is instantly absorbed. I do not hesitate to apply it at night – in the morning there is no swelling, the skin is fresh and moisturized. I began to notice in the mirrors that the skin under my eyes seemed to glow – and this even without a concealer. The tool clearly has a cumulative effect – a few days ago I gave up tinting cosmetics just because I was gone and needed to hide something.

Evaluation: 10 out of 10, I also like the consumption – according to my calculations, a jar will take 2-3 months, for such a product as a cream around the eyes this is an ideal period – it will not stale.

Expectation: Prevents moisture loss and provides intense and long-lasting hydration to the delicate and sensitive skin around the eyes thanks to avocado oil. Due to the water-oil texture, the product does not roll or spread onto the mucous membrane of the eyes. Suitable for contact lens wearers.

Reality: the cream is offered to warm up between the fingers – a tight texture floats before our eyes, turning almost into water. Very funny sensations in which you even begin to convince yourself that the cream is super moisturizing. And it is true – it perfectly cares for the skin around the eyes. I took him on a trip, where all the tap water turned out to be very hard – the skin suffered after every wash. The avocado cream helped to withstand this in general without consequences. It is absorbed in about 5 minutes, which is certainly not instantaneous, but quite adequate.

Evaluation: 10 out of 10, the texture is unbreakable.

Expectations: Phytosial peptide cosmetics appeared in Russia at the end of 2016. Thanks to the developments of the French laboratory, Phytosial cosmetics provide the effect of non-injection mesotherapy. The entire product line of the brand has a high concentration of peptides and amino acids obtained by biotechnology. The formulas also include antioxidants that slow down the aging process at the cellular level, as well as ingredients that promote the production of collagen and elastin in the skin.

Reality: I always respect manufacturers who have switched from a traditional jar to a tube with a dispenser – this is much more hygienic, and the product does not come into contact with oxygen, that is, it does not oxidize or exfoliate, but water and oils. The cream itself is dense, and for one press, the dose is released exactly for one eyelid – this is also commendable, there is no way to overdo it. Rather, it is for day care – it does not conflict with subsequent care, with powder or correctors. There is enough food for a day – wrinkles did not appear due to dryness during the day. It’s probably too early to talk about meso – I have been using the product not so long ago, but to be honest, I rarely believe that home care can replace the procedures of a beautician. To prolong the effect – perhaps yes.

Evaluation: 10 out of 10, special thanks for the lack of perfume and the dispenser – this is exactly what good skin care products should be.

Expectations: balm, according to the manufacturer, smoothes wrinkles and makes the skin more elastic. But the best part is that it suits not only the eyes, but also the lips!

Reality: I really like the Caudalie brand, so I was thrilled to test out the Resveratrol Lift Eye & Lip Balm. And I was very pleased. And at first I was captivated by the aroma of the product – very gentle and unobtrusive. Then I was pleased with the texture – soft, fast-absorbing and … completely non-sticky (unlike my last eye cream). I was also pleased with the properties of the balsam: it made the area around the eyes and lips shine and made the skin smooth. The tonal fluid and the concealer also perfectly lay on the tool.

Evaluation: 10 or 10.

– Caring for the skin around the eyes is especially important for me. I can skip the face cream, but eye area products will never disappear from my daily beauty ritual. At the age of 31, wrinkles in this area (and in others too) were not noticed, but there are swelling and dark circles under the eyes.

Expectations: organic natural eye cream Ausganica is designed to reduce the severity of expression lines, slow down the aging process of the skin, protect against free radicals, provide deep hydration and increase skin elasticity. The product contains a lot of useful things, including red algae extract and hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid.

Reality: I love the smell of this cream! It smells like a natural and at the same time unobtrusive rose, however, like all products from this line. To be honest, I’m a real fan of the Australian brand Ausganica. I also have a face serum that turns the skin into a peach. The eye cream did not disappoint either. Very light and non-greasy, more like an emulsion. If you do not overdo it with the amount of the applied product, it is absorbed quite quickly. The cream moisturizes very well without leaving a greasy or sticky film on the skin. I have sensitive eyes, but despite the high concentration of natural substances, no allergies were noticed. Of course, the product does not relieve dark circles, but visibly refreshes and smoothes the skin.

Rating: 10 out of 10. I love everything about this cream: aroma, texture and level of hydration. And the cream is also universal: if necessary, it can be applied all over the face.

Expectations: care for the area around the eyes from Uriage prevents the first wrinkles, eliminates dark circles and bags under the eyes due to the presence of dextran sulfate in the composition. An innovative anti-aging complex that smoothes wrinkles and improves skin texture. The complex contains fragmented hyaluronic acid and anti-hyaluronidase. These two components retain water in the skin, intensely moisturizing, protecting against free radicals and regenerating it.

Reality: the product must be applied using the built-in steel roller, which evenly distributes the cream and pleasantly cools the skin. It has almost no smell and has a light beige shade, which, apparently, should mask dark circles. Immediately after application, the look really freshened up. The bags, of course, have not gone anywhere, but the bruises have lightened a little. Among the advantages, I can also name a pleasant texture, which is absorbed very quickly. The skin becomes very soft, without stickiness and unnecessary shine.

Evaluation: 10 of 10. And a really good eye cream. It moisturizes and refreshes well, but for the colder seasons I would suggest a more nutritious texture.

Expectations: Lush eye cream does not promise any miracles: it simply moisturizes, refreshes and soothes. In the composition, you can see ingredients that are pleasing to the eye, such as lavender infused with honey water, almond oil and jojoba oil. The cream helps to eliminate fine wrinkles caused by dry skin, and does not provoke puffiness.

Reality: really very simple and pleasant cream. An excellent option for summer: the skin immediately “eats” it, so for autumn and winter, moisture may not be enough. In general, I liked the product: a good base cream for problem-free skin. Unfortunately, I discovered two significant disadvantages for myself. The first is smell. I am rather picky about the aroma of cosmetics, but this smell turned out to be too harsh and unpleasant for me – a mixture of herbs and some kind of acetone. The second minus is the dispenser. When trying to squeeze the product onto the pad of the finger, the entire hand and part of the dressing table were in it.

Rating: 8 out of 10. Withdrew points for aroma and dispenser. The rest is a wonderful cream.

– Previously, I did not pay any attention to the mimic wrinkles around the eyes. So what, what are they? The people around me perceived me as a positive person who is not averse to laughing at this or that situation. But it was like that before. Recently, I began to notice that wrinkles look not at all cute and certainly not sexy. Therefore, I decided to use artillery in the form of skin care products for the skin around the eyes. Let’s see how correct this decision was.

Expectations: I treat this brand very warmly, regularly using shampoos and hair balms. But I somehow got used to avoiding creams. And, apparently, in vain! I expected from this product, if not a wonderful getting rid of all wrinkles in the morning, then at least a noticeable result. Well, you get the idea.

Reality: the anti-wrinkle moisturizer around the eyes turned out to be quite good. According to the manufacturers, the product promotes skin regeneration, moisturizes and strengthens it. I used the product in the morning and in the evening on previously cleansed skin as indicated in the instructions. I would not say that the wrinkles were instantly smoothed out, but the skin became soft, hydrated and visually healthier. I also liked the light aroma of frosty tundra plants – subtle, but very pleasant. I was ready to just leave the open bottle on the dresser and inhale this scent. By the way, another plus: the consumption of the product is very economical, so a 15 ml jar will last for a long time.

Rating: 9 of 10 points. I haven’t used the product for too long, so the result is not so impressive yet. But I plan to continue using it to get rid of the hated wrinkles.

Expectations: I was not familiar with this brand before, so I approached testing with caution. It’s just that my sensitive skin immediately reacts to inappropriate products with something like rashes and peeling, so I would like to avoid such a misfortune. Looking ahead, I will say that I was worried in vain.

Reality: according to the manufacturer, this serum was specially formulated to reduce fine and large wrinkles in the delicate area around the eyes. With regular use, the skin becomes more hydrated, firm and radiant. And LCA Complex – an intelligent complex of lactic acid, acetylhexapeptide, caffeine, pearlescent particles, which is part of the product, acts very carefully and is suitable even for sensitive skin. It is enough to apply the tool once or twice a day, and the visible result will not be long in coming. But the fact that mimic wrinkles have become less pronounced, I noticed after several days of regular use. In addition, the product is in a convenient bottle with a dispenser, so it is easy to take it with you on trips and use the required amount of the product at a time (and not scoop half of the cream out of the jar with your hand, for example).

– I use eye cream regularly. I have thin skin, not overdried, but age, computer work and periodic lack of sleep make themselves felt. Bruises appear under the eyes in the evening. And, of course, there are age-related wrinkles, which make me especially sad. Usually I apply the cream only in the evening before going to bed.

Expectations: I got an expensive eye contour cream for testing. In this regard, I have placed great hopes and expectations on him. The description states that the cream eliminates expression lines, dark circles, reduces puffiness and bags under the eyes. Also has a lifting effect. This is exactly what I need. Of course, I understand that getting rid of wrinkles will not work at all, but I want them to become smoother and not stand out so much when smiling.

Reality: the bottle is very convenient, when pressed, the required amount of funds will be highlighted. The cream is light and non-greasy in texture, absorbs quickly enough, does not leave greasy on the skin. On contact with the skin, it melts and turns into a lotion. Well moisturizes, nourishes the skin, softens it. Does not cause eye discomfort, does not sting, does not tighten the skin. In the morning, the bruises under the eyes disappeared, the skin became uniform in color, the look is healthy and fresh. I can’t say that fine wrinkles are gone, but due to the fact that the skin becomes smooth and well hydrated, they are less noticeable. I really hope that after longer and more regular use, deeper wrinkles will also be smoothed out.

Rated 10 out of 10. I liked the cream. In the morning, you can really see its action, a fresh look and no bruises. I will continue to use it.

Expectations: Dr. Jart + claims to be a brand that fights imperfections at the cellular level. As part of a patented cocktail of seven vitamins:

– A and E – neutralize the action of free radicals and promote the formation of a colagen, which increases the elasticity and firmness of the skin.

– C – strengthens the vascular walls and increases immunity.

– H – activates cell metabolism.

– B5 – is responsible for cell renewal.

– BZ – promotes better blood circulation.

– F – corresponds to the hydrolipid balance.

The product, judging by the description, stimulates the regeneration of exchanged skin processes, provides it with nutritious substances and restores water balance, eliminates dark circles under the eyes.

Reality: being tested by me is not an easy task. A whole week of lack of sleep and huge circles under the eyes. But I believe in a magical composition in an unusual, ampoule-like package. I apply the product for several days in a row and twice a day. I massage with fanaticism – the “ampoule” is equipped with a roller for an additional massage effect. The result is checked during the next early rise (at 5 am!).

“Not bad!” – there are almost no bags under the eyes. Instead of the usual dark blue spots under the eyes, there are traces of only late going to bed – just a slight swelling, which, however, disappears after the morning use of the serum. I think if I get enough sleep, the product will have the opportunity to demonstrate its “magic” to the fullest. But, to be honest, I am more than happy with this result.

Of the advantages, I can note – fashionable and unusual packaging, pleasant sensations from massage and light coolness on the skin after application. The product smells pleasant, absorbs quickly. The result is on the face. I’m happy. I recommend!

Expectations: According to the manufacturers, the cream contains pure vitamin C and microelastin (peptide), promotes the renewal of skin cells, provides antioxidant protection against daily aggressive environmental factors, models and softens the skin, strengthens and soothes.

Reality: Immediately, I will note the convenience of using the cream – a tube with a dispenser. A surprise was the color – light brown (as a base tone), and then doubts crept in … However, the texture of the cream turned out to be so delicate and pleasant, absolutely not greasy, quickly absorbing and leaving no marks and shine, that doubts were dispelled. And the smell was quite pleasant – a light coffee aroma. As for the direct effect of the cream on the skin, the impressions were very positive. Despite the fact that at that time my face was actively exposed to sunlight, the skin remained soft and radiant (yes, I checked this by applying a completely different cream to the second eye). By the way, according to the manufacturer’s recommendation, you need to use the cream only once a day – in the evening, which, of course, is nice.

Rating: 10 out of 10. Everything is great – design, content and result.

Expectations: A moisturizing eye cream with a gentle applicator to combat signs of fatigue. The gel, enriched with invigorating Corsican citrate extract, moisturizes and restores the area around the eyes, fights signs of fatigue, and the massage balls on the applicator remove puffiness.

Reality: Surprisingly, this gel really fights edema very well, removes swelling and slight “cyanosis”. Of the minuses – only my subjective preferences: I do not like rollers and I do not like gels, since they leave traces behind them (they are not completely absorbed, they form a film, etc.). Note that in this case, the roller applicator was not bad at all (I believe that it was thanks to its massage effect that the swelling went away). As for the gel, the main thing is not to overdo it with it, since “stickiness” is still present. An important plus – the gel can be used by both women and men. So this is also an opportunity to save money by buying one jar for two.

Rating: 9 and 10. Nice gel, but took off the point for stickiness.

– Until recently, pimples or pores around the nose were more frustrating for me, and slight wrinkles around the eyes were invisible until a certain age. After 30 years, I realized that I do not pay enough attention to the delicate skin around the eyes.

Expectations: The gel saturated with vitamins A, C and E, which has a moisturizing and cooling effect, reduces puffiness, smoothes fine wrinkles and removes dark circles under the eyes.

Reality: The gel is very pleasant, it really cools and soothes the skin around the eyes. It contains small, golden beads that dissolve upon application. The gel is easily absorbed, penetrates into the skin completely. The skin really becomes more elastic and tightened, swelling decreases. The only drawback is that it is inconvenient to use, since the container in which the cream is located is glass with a lid. Still, a tube with a dispenser is preferable for me.

Rating: 10 out of 10. Pleasant texture, unusual sensations, toned skin.

Expectations: Manufacturers promise that fragmented hyaluronic acid intensely moisturizes and nourishes the skin with moisture, while caffeine has a decongestant effect.

Reality: The cream is applied and absorbed perfectly, has a gel consistency. No stickiness! Perfectly moisturizes, as it contains thermal water. In the morning, it seemed to me the most correct to apply, since literally in 15 minutes a sleepy look and swelling leave the eyes. The cream-gel is suitable for those whose skin is prone to dryness and dehydration.

Rating: 10 out of 10. I also liked the economical use – 15 ml is enough for several months of use.

Expectation. Also, this cream-gel, in addition to moisturizing and soothing, promised on its packaging to eliminate fine wrinkles and give the skin elasticity and a feeling of comfort.

Reality. Immediately after washing in the morning and before going to bed, a whole complex was exposed to the skin around the eyes, capable of “penetrating through the intercellular adipose tissue of the skin to the deepest layers of the dermis and stimulating collagen synthesis.” The cottonseed oil included in the composition really nourished, softened and soothed the skin, beta-glucan toned and refreshed it, and allantoin acted as an antioxidant. I felt the result: in fact, all this gave not only a moisturizing, but also a calming effect.

Evaluation: 10 out of 10 points.

Expectation. The packaging promised a specific percentage effect. 80 percent – a noticeable lifting effect, 74 percent – dark circles are less noticeable, 84 percent – the skin looks fresh and radiant.

Reality. I felt all these effects on myself, but I find it difficult to calculate by what percentage. In my opinion, 100. The result, as I understand it, gave a rich composition of the cream – it included a whole herbal collection. Golden root reduced wrinkles around the eyes, pure parsley extract reduced circles and bags under the eyes, oat milk intensively nourished and softened, chamomile soothed, and also relieved irritation and redness, and clover flowers, in addition to this bouquet, deeply moisturized.

Evaluation: 10 out of 10 points.
