Wday tests: choosing the best mascara for sports

– Three times a week I go to the pool. You run to the morning session, and after that, so as not to be late for work, you are left without makeup. If for the evening, you must have time to remove the mascara from the eyelashes, otherwise it will flow even with glasses, they will fog up a little. The solution, it would seem, was invented many years ago: buy waterproof mascara and enjoy life. And I dislike her since adolescence (when they had not yet come up with means for removing such a make-up and had to wash the product from the eyelashes for a long time). Since then, I haven’t had anything to do with such mascara, but I decided to take the risk of swimming with the waterproof ArtDeco All in One.

Expectation: the manufacturer promised voluminous thick eyelashes, perfect coloring. Plus, according to the label, the mascara is suitable for sensitive eyes. This is just my case.

Reality: If my usual mascara makes the lashes perfectly black from the first application, then I had to tinker with ArtDeco All in One. Her texture is coarser, glides worse, paints paler. It took two layers. But in general, I received the promised volume.

The first 20 minutes in the water with the glasses on were comfortable. I even forgot that I had put on makeup. She remembered only when the glasses were fogged up, took off her glasses and felt a strange smell. From glasses pulled stale doormat. As if a wet rag had been thrown into a corner and forgotten. Such a surprise! Apparently, mascara, rubber and condensation do not mix well.

The remaining 25 minutes I swam without glasses. The eyes soon began to itch. A couple of times the upper lashes meshed with the lower ones. But in general, not so bad, considering that the mascara did not flow and remained in place, as I was convinced by looking in the mirror after training.

However, dark circles under the eyes were added to the black eyelashes, and, alas, the mascara, although it did not float, but slightly crumbled.

Evaluation: 7 out of 10 points. In principle, the makeup has not disappeared anywhere, it just needs to be tweaked. But the smell, discomfort from itching and crumbling particles cannot be called a pleasant bonus. It was possible to completely remove the mascara with Garnier micellar cleansing gel, although it is not intended for long-lasting cosmetics, it did it in two passes.

– I also tested mascara in the pool! This is an ideal load in the spring: firstly, you spend a lot of calories and really lose weight, and secondly, the water washes away all the negativity accumulated during the day, all the fatigue. You surface and fly! But my swim always happens after a day at work, and to be honest, I don’t wash off my makeup. I usually paint my eyelashes with waterproof mascara so as not to think about it. But in the description of HOLIKA HOLIKA it was said that, although it is not waterproof, cold water does not take it, but rub it with warm water, and it will instantly wash off. Isn’t this a diver’s dream? 🙂

Expectation: I have not heard anything about this Korean brand, but the description inspired optimism: a twisting effect, no lumps, and does not crumble, while it is washed off with warm water even without special means. The composition also contains solid pluses: natural wax and special particles that nourish the eyelashes. At the same time, they promise a bright black color without lumps and for the whole day.

Reality: I know, some people like to make up eyelashes look natural. If you are from this category of people, you will love the effect. For me, he is rather weak: in one layer it is practically not visible that she was using a brasmatik. And the second layer lays down unevenly and glues the cilia.

The mascara brush is innovative and curved – specially designed to curl even short hairs. But I did not notice that the shape of the eyelashes changed somehow.

The mascara lasted a day: it really did not crumble. And best of all, it withstood the pool brilliantly! 45 minutes without a mask, but with diving for a non-waterproof mascara is a record.

And, washing at home, I understood why. She did not wash off with warm water. Not even smeared. I plugged in the soap. No, no way. Somehow, with grief in half, I tore off the mascara from the eyelashes, applying discs with micellar water to my eyes for a couple of minutes. And even in this situation, it did not wash off, but fell off in pieces, which immediately adhered to the skin around the eyes. On the third visit, I ended up somehow removing the makeup. But I got reddened eyes.

Evaluation: 5 out of 10. I did not receive any of the claims. Yes, the mascara will last all day, but every evening you will be tested during its removal. The effect is also average: suitable for daily makeup for owners of naturally fluffy eyelashes.

– Recently, active sports have left my life, but I love yoga with all my heart. Three sweats from me in our classes do not leave, but since they are in the morning, I come to training already in full daytime coloring. And it is important for me to keep my face after class, because the tight timing does not even leave a minute to correct the makeup. At the same time, I hate waterproof cosmetics with all my heart and do not use them unless absolutely necessary. These are the kinks. Is there even a perfect mascara that can satisfy them? Yes! I found it, I have been using it for three years, but I am already ready to start an alternative option.

Expectations: Clarins 01 Intense Black is not waterproof, that’s a plus. One more: a classic fluffy brush without any bends there, as I love. It is important for me that the mascara does not stick together the eyelashes, dyes them well, does not crumble during the day and does not flow immediately from sweat or raindrops, and in the evening it can be easily washed off with my cleanser.

Reality: I am glad that my expectations from the brush came true: she painted over the eyelashes in a couple of strokes, one layer was enough to achieve the desired effect. For me, this is when you can see that the eyelashes are painted, but do not resemble spider legs. I am absolutely satisfied with the result, now let’s see how ink will behave in life.

She endured yoga easily: she did not crumble, did not smear, although the inverted asanas made her sweat this time. The catch was suddenly revealed when, after class, I rinsed my face with cold water. A panda was suddenly reflected in the mirror! No, not that such a result was unexpected: the mascara, let me remind you, is still not waterproof, but I got used to the fact that my usual brasmatik did not take cold water – only a means for washing. And out of habit she refreshed herself. This is not a minus of mascara, but for me personally it is minus one fad in ease of use.

As a result, having somehow wiped away the black marks under the eyes, Clarins and I spent the rest of the day without incident.

With washing, it did not work out very smoothly either: my rather powerful tool still did not completely remove the makeup. I had to eliminate traces with micellar water. If you are used to removing cosmetics with this wonderful invention of our time, then there will be no problem: micellar can easily cope with mascara.

Evaluation: 8 out of 10 exclusively in my personal rating. For my needs, this mascara is not ideal, but I will use it and recommend it to my friends, among other worthy copies.

– Mascara is one of the few make-up products that I use regularly. I usually choose with the effect of volume, I do not use waterproof ones – there is no need. On weekdays I get to the sports club only in the evening and go there with “office” make-up. I wondered how the mascara would behave at the end of the day.

Expectations: I hadn’t come across the English brand Eyeko before, and it was interesting to try it. Moreover, their Sport Waterproof Mascara was awarded the main award of one of the beauty awards. The description said that the mascara is resistant to any moisture, lasts 24 hours, does not form lumps, curls eyelashes, and in addition, it contains collagen and 11 fruit extracts that provide care. I decided that such a product would be useful not only for sports, but also for every day, and fitness would become an additional test of strength.

Reality: the mascara ended up with a fluffy curved brush that really added a curl to the lashes. During the working day, the mascara did not smear and did not flow, but in the evening I had an interval training session, during which even my elbows were sweating. I left the hall on trembling legs with a red shiny face. The ink didn’t even flinch. She passed sports tests perfectly. But my personal tests began before going to bed, when I tried to wash it off in the usual way – with micellar water.

Attempts were unsuccessful. Since there was no means to remove waterproof makeup at hand, I had to wash my face with soap several times, rub with cotton pads, then fingers – the mascara stubbornly did not want to disappear to the end … I thought it was the perfect product for a party. You can dance with this ink all night, and go to breakfast in the morning – it will not let you down.

Evaluation: 8 out of 10 points. First, there is a need to purchase a special makeup remover. Secondly, instructions on how to use the brush to achieve maximum effect would not hurt – nothing is written on the tube.

– Mascara for me is the main product in a cosmetic bag. I have several tubes at once for all occasions. Even when there is no makeup on my face, it’s impossible to do without mascara. Needless to say, I go to morning Pilates with painted eyelashes?

Expectations: the product description says that a professional wing-shaped brush creates the effect of false eyelashes, adds length, volume and colors even the shortest eyelashes. For me, it was important that the mascara looked natural enough, without lumps and clumped eyelashes. And yes: so that it does not crumble and float during training.

Reality: Falsies Angel by Maybelline is now my favorite mascara! The plastic hairbrush came as a surprise to me. It is unusual to use it, but it is quite convenient. After applying mascara, the eyelashes look very natural and natural. It’s as if I’m not wearing makeup at all and I have such huge eyelashes by nature.

As for the training, then the mascara proved to be perfect here too. I would not say that I sweat a lot during Pilates, but rubbing my eyes during exercise is sometimes necessary. Despite this, after training, my eyelashes still looked as beautiful and natural as before.

A separate bonus: the mascara is not waterproof and can be easily washed off with water using a regular cleanser.

Rating: 10 out of 10. Price, application, result and durability – everything is perfect!

Expectation: the description for Lash Power Mascara, Clinique, we must admit, turned out to be very impressive. The manufacturer writes that thanks to a unique formula that includes advanced ingredients, the mascara is not affected by rain, pool water, sweat, tears, sebum, or moisture.

Reality: I will note right away that I liked the mascara. It paints eyelashes perfectly without leaving lumps. She also had a very comfortable brush and a pleasantly fluid texture.

With Lash Power Mascara, Clinique I went all day and then went to Pilates. After an hour of training, the ink remained in place. It did not spread over the face and did not stick the eyelashes together. And this despite the fact that at one point I, forgetting that I had my eyelashes, rubbed my eye.

The mascara was washed off the second time with the usual foam for washing (at home, unfortunately, I did not have a means for removing waterproof mascara from my eyes). Moreover, she washed off easily and simply without such horrors as redness of the eyes, irritation of the face, etc.

Rating: 10 or 10.

– I often go to work and parties without makeup at all, and even to workouts and even more so. But it was this mascara that immediately interested me, and I had to change the rules. Inside, an oddly shaped brush that widens at the base and tip should help paint over the lashes at the inner and outer corner of the eye.

Expectation: Yves Saint Laurent is a well-known eyelash drama lover. Many of my friends buy this mascara one after another and cannot get enough of the volume and lush lashes. I tend to appreciate mostly the curvature and length, but let’s see how The Chock Mascara performs in gym mode.

Reality: I went to a super-intense functional workout: an hour and a half on a rug with a step, dumbbells and a rope. During the exercises, the mascara crumbled a couple of times, but I scratched my eyes and, without looking in the mirror, continued training. Nobody looked at me with horror – it’s already good, which means that everything is more or less in order with my eyes.

In the locker room, I scrutinized the “battlefield”: the lower eyelashes stuck together a little, and the upper “fan” thinned out. But the worst thing did not happen – the mascara did not spread, did not get into the eyes and did not cause discomfort. There was also no black dust under the eyes. I prepared the last test for the staunch fighter and washed myself with water – and he is still in place, he even survived a shower. Amazing business!

At home, she easily removed with micellar water, leaving no streaks, which I was glad: I knew that the girls started having problems with makeup remover, and worried about my copy. But even here the performance was worthy, you won’t find fault.

Evaluation: 10 out of 10, I highly recommend for fans of “drama” in the gym to give it a try.

Reality: the ink lay perfectly – I didn’t even have to layer it. “Rich” volume is achieved quickly – she does not fan out the cilia (or maybe I just don’t know how to wish so), but they look great – even, of the correct shade and not glued together. Unfortunately, many mascaras are not in good condition when purchased – they need to be used for a couple of weeks, while they ripen – they acquire a thick and pleasant texture. Guerlain has no such problems – open it and use it, it absolutely does not change the texture over time (at the time of writing this review, I have been using it for a month)

It was cold at the race – the eyes were watering from the sharp gusts of wind. It didn’t work out to sweat – maybe for the best. While running, I did not think at all that mascara was in front of my eyes – it did not interfere at all. I scratched my eyes a couple of times because of the strands of hair that got in the way, and the mascara didn’t react in any way.

After the race, I meticulously examined my eyes with surprise: the mascara did not give up positions at all. She behaved like a good girl and did not arrange for pits in the form of smudges or a dubious crumb. Bravo!

The picture “after” was taken already in the dressing room of the sports club, after 7 hours of mascara in front of our eyes. I must say that she behaved more than decently – the eyelashes did not stick together and looked very neat.

Rating: 10 out of 10, definitely recommend for lengthening and volume.

Expectation: To be honest, I did not expect anything supernatural from a product that costs about 200 rubles. Of course, I know that there are mass-market products that work just as well as luxury brands, but I still expected a catch.

Reality. I will say right away that the product did not disappoint! The only thing I didn’t like was how the eyelashes stuck together, because in order to get a charcoal black color, I had to apply several layers.

Mascara paints eyelashes well, but if you apply 3 layers, then in places the eyelashes look like “spider legs” and stick together a little. But my morning race the tool withstood with a bang! I have rewound a few circles, but the means at least what! The mascara did not crumble, did not smudge, even withstood the morning shower. All I had to do was apply the shadows, and I could go to work.

By the way, I try not to use water-resistant mascara. I just had a sad experience when I could not wash off mascara from my eyelashes with anything, and I had to wait until it crumbled by itself. Therefore, this time I was also a little worried about how I would get rid of the product in the evening! Everything turned out to be very simple. Mascara is perfectly removed with the long-lasting makeup remover milk without smearing or crumbling.

Rating: 8 of 10 points. Quite worthy mascara, if only the eyelashes would not stick together – in general, there would be no price for it!
